ADICTS, THE - Songs of praise LP/CD 11.50/13.50 EUR
PUNK. In an ultimate edition, England's punk icons THE ADICTS' classic album "Songs of praise", which was released in the early '80s, comes along with brandnew recordings. The same 16 hammer-tracks plus one hidden track recorded a second time to celebrate the last 25 years. It's no overstatement to say that "Songs of praise" is a milestone and one of the most important records in the history of punk. A definite must have for everyone whose heart is dedicated to punk. (2008/PEOPLE LIKE YOU)
-----------------------------------------------------------
ALCEST - Souvenirs d'un autre monde LP 11.90 EUR
EMOROCK. After making a small stir in the black metal underground with their 2005 MCD, "Le secret", ALCEST have left their origins in that scene far behind them. Their music manages to evoke a spring-like atmosphere full of beauty, intense joy and light, but also filled with yearning and nostalgia. It brings to mind memories of the innocence and bliss of a childhood long past as well as impressions of a fantastic fairyland of perfect harmony. Multi-instrumentalist Neige has created a musical concept for himself that is nothing less than revolutionary - and the actual realization of this concept on "Souvenirs d'un autre monde" has made for a peerless landmark. No other title would have done justice to this debut album. These 8 long and speric songs range from emotional Indierock to darker acoustic passages embeded in a playful fantasy-landscape and really are souvenirs from another world. (2008/HYPERREALIST)
-----------------------------------------------------------
BALANCE - In like a lion 7'' 3.90 EUR
HARDCORE. BALANCE started out in the late summer 2007 by four Swedish kids deciding to put together a fast and aggressive SxE band. Fans of fast and aggressive straight edge hardcore in the vein of FLOORPUNCH, STRAIGHT AHEAD, BROTHERHOOD and xCHORUSXx should definitely check this one out. (2008/NOT JUST WORDS)
-----------------------------------------------------------
CRIME IN STEREO - The troubled stateside LPcol 9.90 EUR
HARDCORE. Never before released on vinyl, CRIME IN STEREO's acclaimed 2006 CD (on Nitro Records) is now available on 12" vinyl from the band's current home, Bridge Nine Records. The band hit the road in support of "The Troubled Stateside," sharing the stage with BRAND NEW, as well as doing stints on the Warped Tour. Raspy, dynamic and a hardcore-punk album that proved the band had the chops to write intricate anthems, CRIME IN STEREO is still on tour all the time, and "The Troubled Stateside" is still a relevant album over two years after its original release. (2008/BRIDGE NINE)
-----------------------------------------------------------
DAMAGED GOODS - Fever LP 9.90 EUR
HARDCORE-PUNK. Belgiums trashers of DAMAGED GOODS are back with 10 songs on the "Fever" LP. After a solid EP on Not Just Words Records and playing shows across Europe ( even with one of the best HC bands ever, NEGATIVE APPROACH), DAMAGED GOODS went down into Studio 195 to record this one-sided LP. With 10 songs clocking in below 14 minutes, ''Fever'' is fast as hell and charged with so much crazy guitar riffing, that the friction will drive you insane. Split-release between Crucial Attack and Crashlanding Records. (2008/CRUCIAL ATTACK)
-----------------------------------------------------------
DEADLY SINS - Selling our weaknesses CD 10.90 EUR
PUNKROCK. Vinyl postponed to 16.09.2008. DEADLY SINS emerge as a fresh voice in the long-standing Boston punk rock scene. Stephanie Dougherty and Billy Brown formed the band in 2006. Stephanie is best known for lending her vocals to the DROPKICK MURPHYS on the song "The dirty glass" and Billy singing and playing guitar in CRASH AND BURN. Soon after, the lineup was complete with the addition of Brendan Maguire (REACH THE SKY), Nathan Bice (EVEN IN BLACKOUTS) and Joe Packard. This is their debut-album with 12 tracks that showcase a unique sound, which is a combination of the different musical experiences of each member. Expect tons of melodies, sinalongs and some serious kickass streetpunk on one hand, but also some smoother tunes on the other, as well. A very fine debut co-produced and engineered by Dean Baltulonis (BOUNCING SOULS, SICK OF IT ALL). (2008/DURTY MICK)
-----------------------------------------------------------
DEATHCYCLE - Prelude to tyranny LP 10.90 EUR
HARDCORE. With regard to history and the mindset that goes along with being a New Yorker, DEATHCYCLE return with "Prelude to tyranny," the follow-up to their self-titled 2006 debut. Not straying from the path they carved early on, DEATHCYCLE created a record as crushingly bleak and politically aware as its predecessor while maintaining their unique hybrid of punk, hardcore and metal. The influence of NYHC legends SHEER TERROR and AGNOSTIC FRONT are as prevalent as the nods given to MOTÖRHEAD, DISCHARGE and the early Earache Records roster, culminating into riffs as destructive as the lyrics are biting. (2008/LIFELINE)
-----------------------------------------------------------
DIE KREUZEN - October file LP 11.50 EUR
HARDCORE-PUNK. Now available again on vinyl is this second LP, originally released in 1986, from Milwaukee, WI's DIE KREUZEN, which saw the band getting darker and a little bit more metal-influenced than on their first full-length, but retaining their hardcore urgency, further defining the band's signature sound. (2008/TOUCH & GO)
-----------------------------------------------------------
DIE KREUZEN - Same LP 11.50 EUR
HARDCORE-PUNK. Now available on vinyl again (for the first time in 13 years) is this classic 1984 debut from Milwaukee, WI's DIE KREUZEN, who seamlessly blended hardcore punk with darker elements to create a unique sound that nobody has been able to duplicate. (2008/TOUCH & GO)
-----------------------------------------------------------
DISSENT AND REVOLT / DISSOLUTE - Split 7''col 4.50 EUR
GRINDCORE. Cleveland, OH's youngsters DISSOLUTE bring a combined 45 years of experience along with a complex wall of sound erupting with a filthy dirty grinding overdrive, frenetic time changes, yet still with a perfect blend of straightforward old fashioned heavy metal riffage while Madison, WI's DISSENT AND REVOLT push the limits of technicality with quick, dynamic energy shifts full of almighty groove and pummeling aggression and have played locally with DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, DYSRHITMIA, WEEDEATER, SKELETONWITCH, VADER, KATAKLYSM, GRAVEWORM, DESTRUCTION and more. (2008/HIGH FIDELITY)
-----------------------------------------------------------
FEAR MY THOUGHTS - Isolation CD 14.50 EUR
METALCORE. The German metal juggernaut known as FEAR MY THOUGHTS returns with their 6th full-length, which continues to find the band progressing musically and personally as they add elements of rock and melody to their volatile sound, combining their signature style with that of bands like OPETH, MASTODON and PANTERA. (2008/CENTURY MEDIA)
-----------------------------------------------------------
FLOORMODEL - Random access memories CD 10.90 EUR
SINGER/SONGWRITER. Jeff Caudill (ex-GAMEFACE) & David Stoll come to you from two separate continents and time zones, meeting only in cyberspace to create memorable electro-pop songs. David Stoll (known for his solo material as THE BEEP), a pixel pushing beatsmith from Germany saw singer/songwriter Jeff Caudill in Solingen, Germany while Jeff was on a solo tour in the winter of '06. With his highly-memorable voice and guitar, Caudill brings his American pop delivery to new sonic landscapes and adds a vulnerable element to electronic music. (2008/FORTUNATE SON)
-----------------------------------------------------------
FREEZE, THE - Land of the lost LPcol 11.50 EUR
HARDCORE. Finally reissued on vinyl, "Land of the lost" bridged the gap between The FREEZE's signature Boston hardcore/punk style and a more rock 'n' roll sound they employed later in their careers. They still have the punk enthusiasm as in previous releases and use some songs on this recording as scathing criticisms of that period's Boston hardcore scene. (2008/SCHIZOPHRENIC)
-----------------------------------------------------------
GEHENNA - Land of sodom 7'' 5.90 EUR
HARDCORE. The infamous GEHENNA return with four tracks of blazing, negative, black metal-influenced hardcore with a gigantic reputation preceding them. (2008/HIT THE DECK)
-----------------------------------------------------------
HALO OF GUNFIRE - Same MCD 5.90 EUR
METALCORE. HALO OF GUNFIRE, hailing from the picturesque central California coastland, take the new-school extreme metal sound to a level only seen in such acts as BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, THROUGH THE EYES OF DEAD, JOB FOR A COWBOY and DESPISED ICON, and omit clean-sung vocals entirely. This is grunting, snorting and shouting par excellance. (2008/HIGH FIDELITY)
-----------------------------------------------------------
HATEPINKS - Sick cake MLP 10.90 EUR
PUNK. Hey! You've been invited to a little coffee party here by the French haters of pink. So bear those bloodshot eyes behind some dark shades, adjust your white necktie, slip into something classy and whip the cream to these dirty pieces of finest '77 Punk cake with some candied and raunchy cherries on top. This sure ain't no low-calories crap, this goes straight onto your shaking Rock'n'Roll hips which the BRIEFS, the SPITS, the MOORAT FINGERS and their pals of THE AGGRAVATION have already given a handy shape. Includes the X coverversion of ''Suck Suck'' and the Überhit ''Logo-heart (Piece of Shit)'' which is squirting sleaze with every bite and leaves permanent stains on your sunday shirt. Bon appetit! (2008/P. TRASH)
-----------------------------------------------------------
IN FIRST PERSON / STORM THE BASTILLE - Split LPcol 10.90 EUR
HARDCORE. This record is an exercise in all that is amazing about passionate hardcore. With a few nods to heavy, mid '90s hardcore, these bands are making music that really matters at a time when hardcore is more watered down than ever before. IN FIRST PERSON feature ex-members of The ASSISANT, YOU AND I, and WAGE OF SIN, while STORM THE BASTILLE are young newcomers featuring members of STREET SMART CYCLIST and BOY PROBLEMS. This release comes on limited edition pink vinyl while it lasts. (2008/PROTAGONIST)
-----------------------------------------------------------
JACUZZI SUICIDE - Same 7'' 3.90 EUR
ROCK. Asheville, NC's JACUZZI SUICIDE features past & present members of many notable bands: Kakistocracy, Princess Thunderstorm, Ressurectum, Electric Damn, Hadaka Matsuri, Space Weed, Sports, Reagan's Bones, Bomb Threat, Weapons Of Massturbation, etc. This, however, sounds nothing like any of these bands. Imagine people from bands like these deciding to go outside of the punk spectrum & focus more on a Judas Priest, early Motley Crue kinda worship. Cowbells, falsetto vox, & guitar "solos". DIY stadium rock with a glam twist. Maybe you too could use some colours in your wardrobe. (2008/HUMDINGER)
-----------------------------------------------------------
KAFKAS - LD 50 MCD 4.50 EUR
PUNK. After a little while and a couple of tours with PROPAGANDHI, this 5-song MCD serves as a sign of life for the German band. Though musicwise this might surprise most people, the band stays as active, cynical und awake as ever. They took their ''Love-punk'' a fantastic step forward and the songs here a diversified, full of melodies and combined with Markus' very clever and sweeping lyrics. Expect a ride from catchy Punk to MUFF POTTER styled Indiepunk and even danceable and modern Electrosound in ''Klatsch in die Hände''. Make sure to grab their new album ''Paula'', too. Should be out soon. (2008/DOMCORE)
-----------------------------------------------------------
KAKISTOCRACY - An apology 7'' 3.90 EUR
ANARCHO-PUNK. Three brutal tracks from the first recording heard since the 2004 "Cast aside your chains and dance" LP, including the epic title track, which just happens to be my favourite KAKISTOCRACY jam to date. (2008/HUMDINGER)
-----------------------------------------------------------
MARGARET THRASHER - Moderate Rock LP 11.50 EUR
HARDCORE-PUNK. Moderate rock is damn sure the last to expect from the first full-length album by this almost all-female quartet from Vancouver, BC. This is compressed teenage angst that has been brewing in an imposed social boiler for far too long and now gushes out in 9 abrasive and unpolished hardcore punk blasts that deal with pill-popping ravers ("Fuck that"), being raised and stepping out of line ("Resuscitate"), the drag of waiting at airports ("Airport violence") and lots of honest and pissed-off personal matters, like worthless friendships, conformable behaviour or just staying young and dumb. All that is spewed out in a whirlwind of "fucks" by singer Juls throaty and over-the-top voice and backed with stomping, fast and simple beats and a scratching, overwinded guitar. Comparisons to a female version of BRUTAL KNIGHTS are definitely not too far-fetched, though these kids obviously lean more towards the new wave of DIY hardcore punk. Fuck.
(2008/P. TRASH)
-----------------------------------------------------------
MEATMEN, THE - The devil's in the details Volume 1 DVD 16.90 EUR
This 90 minute romp through the last 30 years of Meatdom and traces the origins of the most bombastic, purely sophomoric punk band of pranksters ever to pounce on an unsuspecting public. Tesco Vee, drum major in the squadron of doom, leads the manic maelstrom of hate-filled fun and frolic with live footage from 1979-2007, Tesco on TV, and more mindless moronic mayhem than shouldn't be allowed by law. Punk archivist Dirk Boinker has spent the last 2 years poring over tapes, splicing, repairing and mentally masturbating his way to this... the sinsational final product! The only DVD officially endorsed by Satan. (2008/MUSIC VIDEO)
-----------------------------------------------------------
OBSERVERS, THE - Down on today 7'' 0.00 EUR
HARDCORE-PUNK. This record features the 4 songs from the first OBSERVERS demo recorded in 2003. Tracked in Colin's room and mixed in Doug's, this demo was first released on tape and then on CD-R. It was only sold at the first shows THE OBSERVERS played. Tracks are: ''Short day'', ''Down on today'', ''Can't be sad'' and ''State of decay''. This 7" is wrapped in a silkscreen cover and will be pressed for one time only. (2008/TAKEN BY SURPRISE)
-----------------------------------------------------------
RABIES - Final 7'' 3.70 EUR
TRASHCORE. RABIES follow up their LP on Sorry State Records with a self-released 7". The ''Final'' record is a mix of RABIES' previous classic American hardcore punk styled sound with a heavy "My War"-era BLACK FLAG / BLACK SABBATH influence. This record is RABIES at their loudest and heaviest. (2008/ELIMINATOR)
-----------------------------------------------------------
REAL MCKENZIES, THE - Off the leash LP+CD 10.90 EUR
PUNK. The Real McKenzies are true gadabouts at heart. Fueled by an insatiable appetite for filthy punk shows, Scotch whiskey, and all out mayhem, these kilt-clad punks continue on their quest to bring their patented brand of music to the masses. After 16 years of existence, their seventh album contains 13 new songs of celtic folk-punk accompanied by blowing bagpipes and mystic stories. Though sometimes the songs are calmer than on their previous records, there's a couple of fast and wild tunes that guarantee a good drinking party. Hell, they even threw in a little American country on ''The maple tree remembers'' which suits their sound just fine. An album that grows and grows and grows. (2008/FAT WRECK)
-----------------------------------------------------------
ROOM 13 - User/Abuser 7'' 3.90 EUR
HARDCORE-PUNK. Obnoxious, offensive, in your face, but this time having the last laugh, ROOM 13 will crack your head with their debut EP "User/Abuser". With a smooth live reputation of getting pissed at each other during shows and getting banned from pubs, this young, nihilistic hardcore-punks are here to spill their guts. ROOM 13 recorded 7 songs at Studio 195 and Crucial Attack teamed up with Angry Youth Records to release the EP. (2008/CRUCIAL ATTACK)
-----------------------------------------------------------
SUICIDE NOTE - Empty rooms CD/LP+CD 10.90/11.90 EUR
HARDCORE. "Empty Rooms" is the first album from Chicago, IL's SUICIDE NOTE in four years, following up a record for Ferret and sees the band continuing to draw influences and experimental footnotes from such legends as DRIVE LIKE JEHU, The VSS, SONIC YOUTH and FUGAZI while maintaining the heaviness of hardcore. The LP contains a CD of the entire recording as a bonus. (2008/HAWTHORNE STREET)
-----------------------------------------------------------
SURROUNDINGS / PELLINORE - Split 10''col 9.50 EUR
HARDCORE. Baltimore, MD's SURROUNDINGS and northern New Jersey's PELLINORE each contribute 4 songs of their individual brands of dark hardcore to this 10". SURROUNDINGS offers tracks in the vein of HIS HERO IS GONE combined with TERRORIZER and REPULSION-like speed, while PELLINORE mixes the styles of bands like CROSSED OUT and SIEGE with guitar driven attacks not unlike WITCH or BLACK SABBATH. Each record includes a code redeemable for a full quality mp3 download of the entire release. (2008/FREE CAKE)
-----------------------------------------------------------
TERROR - Forever crossing the line: 5 years in the making CD 10.90 EUR
HARDCORE. "Forever crossing the line: 5 years in the making" is kind of a ''Best-of'' packed with the classic songs that have made TERROR the hardcore beasts they are today. Included are 13 anthems, 2 unreleased songs, 2 live songs, tour photos, writings from members of HATEBREED, LIFETIME, SICK OF IT ALL, MADBALL, CHIMAIRA and more. This is a must have for every TERROR fan out there and a good start for everyone who still doesn't know this band! (2008/TRUSTKILL)
-----------------------------------------------------------
THOUGHT CRUSADE - Common man 7'' 4.20 EUR
HARDCORE. In the 80s and early 90s there was a passion and intensity to hardcore that became overshadowed with the apathy of popular music. Bands like YOUTH OF TODAY, JUDGE, UNIFORM CHOICE and NO FOR AN ANSWER took extreme pride in not only their music but in what their lyrics had to say. Luckily, in the last few years there has been a resurgence of that passion. Chicago based THOUGHT CRUSADE is one such band. With their hook-laden music and a voice of conviction, one cannot help but be swept into their world. Formed by ex-vocalist of EXPIRED YOUTH and SIDEWALK, Ryan Wilson, THOUGHT CRUSADE picks up where those bands left off. (2008/ORGANIZED CRIME)
-----------------------------------------------------------
TOUCHE AMORE - Same 7''col 4.50 EUR
HARDCORE/SCREAMO. Formed in late 2007, TOUCHE AMORE play hardcore that aims to make listeners aware of a few things that "ruffle the band's feathers" ...so to speak. The quintet's sound has been linked to traditional screamo bands like ORCHID, PG. 99 and HOT CROSS, while also being called reminiscent of the more "straight-up" approaches of outfits like AMERICAN NIGHTMARE, CURL UP & DIE and even JAWBREAKER. Their debut release on 7" vinyl includes download card with two bonus tracks. (2008/NO SLEEP)
-----------------------------------------------------------
TOXIC HOLOCAUST - An overdose of death LPcol/CD 13.50/13.50 EUR
THRASH-METAL. TOXIC HOLOCAUST makes good on the threat to unleash the finest metal this side of the 21st century on their Relapse debut "An overdose of death", an unstoppable juggernaut of infectious riffs, punk attitude and unforgettable anthems. If you call yourself a fan of metal, punk, or just kickass rock, this record is nothing less your godsend. (2008/RELAPSE)
-----------------------------------------------------------
UNDEROATH - Lost in the sound of separation CD 14.90 EUR
EMO-METALCORE. "Lost in the sound of separation" is the sixth studio album by christian metalcore/post-hardcore band UNDEROATH. It is the fourth on Solid State Records. This new album is a lot heavier and darker than the 2006 release, "Define the great line". (2008/TOOTH & NAIL)
-----------------------------------------------------------
V/A BELGIUM'S BURNING - 7'' 3.90 EUR
HARDCORE. Now available again. A Belgian 7inch compilation featuring exclusive songs by finest hardcore bands: SHREDDER, A DEN OF ROBBERS, RAVAGED, REPROACH, SUNPOWER, DAMAGED GOODS, VUUR, FURIOUS, VOGUE and TOD POLE! (2008/HOLY SHIT!)
-----------------------------------------------------------
VOGUE - Dick faced LPcol 9.90 EUR
HARDCORE-PUNK. After two demos and two sold-out 7”s, this is their first full-length LP. If you like their previous stuff, you will definitly love this one. The songs on the record are what you can expect from VOGUE but more. Harsher, harder, rawer, unexpected tempo juggling, psychedelic shit ... Discontent in its purest form. It’s hard to make comparisons with other bands as there are so many sides to the record. If you are into PISSED JEANS, SSD, BRUTAL KNIGHTS, ANNIHILATION TIME or DEAD STOP, have a grip on this one. (2008/HOLY SHIT!)
-----------------------------------------------------------
XONE WAYX / YOUTH OF STRENGTH - Split LP+CD 11.90 EUR
HARDCORE. xONE WAYx and YOUTH OF STRENGTH - a 31 track split-album of ferocious straight edge inspired hardcore with tongue firmly in check! Hailing from New Jersey, xONE WAYx is the side project of Bill Henderson (THURSDAY, BETWEEN THE WARS, ...). Their side features 10 brand new tracks. On the flipside are UK's straight edge band YOUTH OF STRENGTH inspired by bands such as GORILLA BISCUTIS or YOUTH OF TODAY. In addition to the 31 tracks on the LP, there is also a bonus CD included featuring an extra 28 tracks, xONE WAYx demo and YOS "Shouting for a better tomorrow" 7" plus unreleased recordings. (2008/BOSS TUNEAGE)
-----------------------------------------------------------
YEARS GONE BY, THE - Forever comes too soon CD 11.50 EUR
POP-PUNK. "Forever comes too soon," The YEARS GONE BY's debut full- length, surely exceeds expectations. Super catchy, yet still edgy, the album is full of hooks and singalongs. For fans of ALL TIME LOW, SET YOUR GOALS and BLINK 182. (2008/RISE)
