-----------------------------------------------------------
AGAINST ME! - Crime 7'' 3.90 EUR

FOLK-PUNK. This is a must have. Uppity mixture of the band's signature Folk and Punk with heartfelt lyrics and great acoustic/electric guitar interplay. An energetic mix of BILLY BRAGG and The CLASH. Now available again on vinyl. Vinyl version includes free digital download. (2009/SABOT)

-----------------------------------------------------------
AGAINST ME! - Sink. Florida. Sink / Unsubstantiated rumors 7''col 4.20 EUR

FOLK-PUNK. When AGAINST ME! recorded "As the eternal cowboy," they recorded acoustic and electric versions of several songs. In the end, they decided to put the alternate versions out as two singles. This record has an elaborate die-cut, fold-out cover designed by artist Chris Norris (Combat Wounded Veteran). Now available again on colored vinyl. (2009/NO IDEA)

-----------------------------------------------------------
ARMAGEDOM - Sem esperancas LP 12.50 EUR

HARDCORE. This legendary Brazilian Hardcore band which has been steadily playing along since 1984 has recorded a brandnew album with 15 Thrashcore grenades with that typical Brazilian '80s old-school sound like RATOS DE PORAO and the likes. Remastered by Bri of DOOM at 1in12 studio. (2009/INSANE SOCIETY)

-----------------------------------------------------------
ARTIMUS PYLE - Tonight is the end of your way 7'' 4.50 EUR

HARDCORE. Great dark Hardcore from San Francisco / USA. Four songs recorded in famous Our House studio in March 2006 during their Japan tour. Expect some seriously explosive Hardcore in the spirit of HIS HERO IS GONE and in the last song there are some screamed vocals by the singer of the legendary Japanese CROW. (2009/INSANE SOCIETY)

-----------------------------------------------------------
AUTISTIC YOUTH - I want to see every tower fall 7'' 4.50 EUR

PUNK. Maybe it should bother me a bit that AUTISTIC YOUTH are hella reminiscent of The OBSERVERS, but it doesn’t. All the parts are in place: mid-paced songs, bubbling bass, surf-edged guitar, a guy who can really sing and who punctuates like he’s spitting out bullets. What should be a throwback is a step in the right direction. If you’re up for melodic Punk that’s as much about broken glass, the broken state of the world, clarity of delivery, and can incorporate a tambourine in a way that sounds like it’s being played by someone in a gas mask instead of bellbottoms with leather fringe, then this if for you. Happily surprised at how strong these 4 songs are. (2009/ROCK BOTTOM)

-----------------------------------------------------------
BAD SEED - Same 7''col 4.50 EUR

HARDCORE-PUNK. If there was a nuclear holocaust and popular culture and music were wiped out, only BAD SEED would remain, like the cockroach that cannot be killed. Climbing to the top of the heap would be Rifkin banging away at the skins while bass master Jamie lays down the earth shattering four string. On lead vox is Shane who can scare off even the toughest listeners, but the pummeling riffs laid down by Saba on “Justice deserved” are crushing enough to get anyone moving in the pit. Combining the best elements of your favorite NYHC bands, BAD SEED shows their tenacity that will keep them going strong when the rest of the world falls by the wayside. (2009/6131)

-----------------------------------------------------------
BLACK PRESIDENT - Same LP/CD 13.50/13.50 EUR

PUNK. The “supergroup” BLACK PRESIDENT was the idea of BAD RELIGON’s Greg Hetson and Goldfinger’s Charlie Paulson, and officially came into the works circa 2005. The same year, a well-spoken African-American was serving in the United States Senate -- this same African-American was elected the 44th president of the United States in late 2008, somewhere near the time that Hetson left the band. Paulson should have immediately took note of the loss of irony and changed the band’s name to something a little less moronic, but instead, he and BLACK PRESIDENT released a less-than-promising debut that borderlines mainstream garbage. (2009/PEOPLE LIKE YOU)

-----------------------------------------------------------
BOMBETTES - You have no chance, Lance! 7'' 4.90 EUR

POP-PUNK. Brand new 7” from these Pop-Punk wonders from Sweden. Four amazingly catchy songs in the vein of NIKKI AND THE CORVETTES, SHANFGRI-LA's and the RAMONES. Dont miss it, perfect for the upcoming summer!!! (2009/NY VAG)

-----------------------------------------------------------
CHARIOT, THE - Wars and rumors of wars CD 14.90 EUR

METALCORE. On their third effort, The CHARIOT push the limits of what modern Metalcore can accomplish in the span of just 10 songs. Josh Scogin, former vocalist of NORMA JEAN, growls atop chaotic, noisy and sometimes mathy guitars, appealing to fans of bands like AS I LAY DYING, The DEVIL WEARS PRADA and The DILLINGER ESCPAE PLAN. (2009/TOOTH & NAIL)

-----------------------------------------------------------
CLOSURE IN MOSCOW - First temple CD 10.90 EUR

INDIE/ROCK. Two years ago, Chris De Cinque, Beau McKee, Manny Zennelli, Michael Barrett and Bradley Kimber were just five Australians with the dream of being full-time musicians. Since then, they've toured all over their home continent, put out an impressive EP, got signed, sold all their worldly possessions and moved to the U.S. Since arriving in the US in January, Melbourne, Australia's CLOSURE IN MOSCOW have been hard at work on their debut full-length with producer, Kris Crummett (Dance Gavin Dance, Emarosa, Kaddisfly) in Portland, OR. The result is "First temple", a collection of 12 songs! (2009/EQUAL VISION)

-----------------------------------------------------------
DEAD INFECTION - Corpses of the universe LP 12.50 EUR

GRINDCORE. DEAD INFECTION from Poland deliver 9 new tracks of bone crushing Grindcore!! The LP version includes a bonus track that is not featured on the CD (a cover of MORTICIAN's "Bloodcraving"). This is one of the most brutal LPs I've heard in a long long time. Not suitable for poser wimps! (2009/HAUNTED HOTEL)

-----------------------------------------------------------
DEVIL WEARS PRADA, THE - With roots above and branches below CD 10.90 EUR

METALCORE. In the first months of 2009, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA entered
the studio with producer Joey Sturgis to record their third full-length album and Ferret Music debut, "With roots above and branches below". Alternative Press regarded the upcoming release one of the most anticipated albums of 2009. THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA’s music is possessed of equal parts slithering Metal riffage meshed with plush Rock passages, peppered with a barrage of synth sounds and harsh to melodic vocals. Their attack is complicated further with unexpected twists and turns in composition, larger melodies and a more focused aggression. (2009/FERRET)

-----------------------------------------------------------
END OF A YEAR - Same 7''col 4.90 EUR

POST-HARDCORE/INDIEROCK. END OF A YEAR started as a way to kill time for Albany musicians already involved in full-time bands. Having spent time playing "heavier" music, the initial End of a Year line-up was interested in trying something more overtly melodic. Their latest release (and first on Deathwish) is a fantastic 7"EP recorded by END OF A YEAR guitarist Andrew Duggan. Picking up where previous releases left off, the hook laden opener "Robert E. Howard" explodes with a discordant crash and bang. A fitting sonic backdrop to vocalist Patrick Kindlon's uniquely honest and poetic diatribe. This theme carries into the other two songs on the release "Gray Morrow" and "Walter Miller Jr". Collectively all three songs carry an organic ebb and flow that brings to mind the ghost of Rites Of Spring as well as other influential Revolution Summer-era DC bands. (2009/DEATHWISH)

-----------------------------------------------------------
GALLOWS - Grey Britain CD 15.90 EUR

POST-HARDCORE. The UK's GALLOWS burst onto the scene with their Epitaph debut "Orchestra of wolves" and is set to strike back with "Grey Britain" which once again inspired by the early '80s Hardcore scene, '90s Swedish modern Hardcore a la REFUSED, a 13-track assault filled with plenty of sneer and Punk attitude. (2009/REPRISE)

-----------------------------------------------------------
GOOD LUCK - Into lake griffy LPcol 9.90 EUR

PUNK. Flat-out inspiring, wonderful people who immediately light up a room. Intricate and direct, raucous and thoughtful, noodley and restrained. This record puts me in a good mood. Some days it's all I need to get through. Do you like PAUL BARIBEAU, WEAKERTHANS and BRIDGE AND TUNNEL? I think that would be a great show. Let's set it up! - Var. GOOD LUCK are friends who knew each other from playing in past musical projects like MATTY POP CHART, ONE REASON, ABE FROMAN, and MT. GIGANTIC. (2009/NO IDEA)

-----------------------------------------------------------
HUMAN MESS - Follow you home LP 10.90 EUR

HARDCORE-PUNK. HUMAN MESS returns with 12 in your face headsmashers on this 45 rpm 12″. Witness the sheer brutality here, this is one to break your neck to. Stripped down, totally raw Hardcore-Punk the way it was meant to be captured. The recording is raw, loud and intense as hell. Let the violence commence! Definetly a must for fans of early POISON IDEA, DISCHARGE and maybe even ANGRY SAMOANS. (2009/NO WAY)

-----------------------------------------------------------
ISIS - Wavering radiant CD 14.90 EUR

POST-ROCK. "Wavering radiant" is the fifth full-length release from Los Angeles, CA by way of Boston, MA quintet ISIS, who have been making waves in the underground Rock scene by pioneering a slow, droning, slightly metallic sound that has been evolving into atmospheric, layered and ambient noise. (2009/IPECAC)

-----------------------------------------------------------
KYLESA - Static tensions (Europe) LP 9.90 EUR

DOOM-HARDCORE. Now available as European pressing. On their fourth full-length, Savannah, GA's KYLESA continue to bombard the senses with another 10 tracks of heavy, sludgy Metal with intense, pounding drums and the occasional melodies, running a gamut from blackened Death Metal on "Said and dDone" to the piano-laced, Middle Eastern-tinged "Running red." (2009/LA FAMILIA)

-----------------------------------------------------------
MASAKARI - Eden compromised 7'' 3.90 EUR

CRUST-HARDCORE. MASAKARI is a five-piece Crust act and they hail from Cleveland and share members with ELEGY TO THE FALL, HELLKITE and RID THE WORLD. "Eden compromised" is their debut release, it delivers 4 tracks of Crust-influenced Hardcore in the vein of FROM ASHES RISE, TRAGEDY and even typical Clevo-sound with heavy thick guitars and emotional riffs, fast rhythm section with excellent drums and rough vocals. Limited to 500 copies. (2009/HALO OF FLIES)

-----------------------------------------------------------
MEAN JEANS - License 2 Cchill 7'' 3.90 EUR

PUNK. Really fucking catchy party-tastic low-brow Garage-Pop from the gutters of Portland, OR. The missing link between The SPITS/ANGRY SAMOANS on one side and QUEERS/RAMONES on the other. 3 songs, with a full-length in the works. We're really psyched about this band. Hop on the bandwagon now! (2009/DIRTNAP)

-----------------------------------------------------------
MOUTHBREATHER - Thank you for your patience LP 9.90 EUR

PUNK. MOUTHBREATHER's first full-length record, captured by Chris Owens (LORDS), is a slice of Punk played with a chip on its shoulder. Raw and stripped down, the songs are unrelenting attacks similar to members' past groups WOW, OWLS! and THE SETUP but still maintaining a new musical identity, keeping Richmond's Punk and Hardcore roots in mind. By no means is this album the safe and comforting Punk that you would find in a local suburban mall, but it is a loose extension of the angst of bands like BLACK FLAG with songs that give a sarcastic, and at times jaded, look at the scene and life. (2009/KISS OF DEATH)

-----------------------------------------------------------
NARROWS - New distances CD 10.90 EUR

HARDCORE-PUNK. Dave Verellen (BOTCH, ROY), Rob Moran (UNBROKEN, SOME GIRLS, OVER MY DEAD BODY), Ryan Frederiksen (THESE ARMS ARE SNAKES, NINEIRONSPITFIRE), Jodie Cox (TROPICS, ROHAME, BULLET UNION), and Sam Stothers (MAKEOUT BOYS, QUARANTINE) are busy men with busy lives. The NARROWS project is not meant to define and drive their individual lives. Rather, the band serves as a respite, a rare opportunity to escape, a vengeful howl from the basest corner of the psyche. In those rare moments when the five men find themselves in the same city, the quintet seizes the opportunity to combine their disparate talents to craft their unique brand of aural malice. NARROWS will offer up their first proper full-length album titled "New distances". Anchored by a minimalist punk framework and elaborated by squalls of angular guitar noise, the music is simultaneously beguiling and dissonant. Helmed by Verellen’s signature roar, the resulting compositions owe as much to the early Hardcore pioneers as to New York and London’s post-Punk founders. Terminally bleak, counter-intuitive to the standard rock paradigm, and at odds with everyone, NARROWS’ debut is an angry slab of nihilistic abandon. (2009/DEATHWISH)

-----------------------------------------------------------
OH SEES, THEE - Help LP 10.90 EUR

PUNK. If you've followed the San Francisco underground for the past ten years, you might already be familiar with John Dwyer. If you like what you see, do yourself a favor and check out Dwyer's newest band, THEE OH SEES. "Newest" because they've only been around for six albums-- albeit in different incarnations, under several different names (OCS, the Oh Sees, et al.) with several different sounds. Formed in the wake of his more volatile commitments, THEE OH SEES started as an extension of Dwyer's softer side. Their early recordings were somber and beautiful. Last year, THEE OH SEES made an unexpected turn, delivering their wildest, weirdest, hardest-rocking record yet with ''The Master's Bedroom Is Worth Spending A Night In''. Now, THEE OH SEES have followed it with an even wilder, more hard-rocking record, "Help". (2009/IN THE RED)

-----------------------------------------------------------
PINK MOUNTAINTOPS - Outside love LP/CD 14.90/14.90 EUR

INDIE-ROCK. PINK MOUNTAINTOPS, side-project of BLACK MOUNTAIN frontman McBean, unites a heap of his Canadian/indie music peers and BLACK MOUNTAIN coconspirators in an effort to aid in his exper-romantic vision, the velvet swaddled novel on "Outside love's" cover as amusing as it is appropriate. But "Outside love" does make its point. McBean ain't all about the big guitars. He's a man of space and atmosphere, first and foremost. And none of his bands, the BLACK MOUNTAIN Rock
juggernaut included, would work without his ability to layer sounds into a beautiful swelling sound. (2009/DAMAGED GOODS)

-----------------------------------------------------------
PROTESTANT - Antagonist 7'' 3.90 EUR

HARDCORE. PROTESTANT deliver 3 tracks of exploding and brutal Hardcore on this 7". Sure, there are the heavy and dark melodies over hard rhythms and thundering beats, but PROTESTANT are a lot more Hardcore than that with their speed and aggressiveness. Where the main path here is in fact dark and powerful Hardcore the music takes more than one turn with the occasional doom-laden riffs lurking around one corner and blastbeats around another. Spitting vocals, ravelling riffs, and an alternation and combination of the crushing rhythms and rapid deliverances makes the word powerful seem like an understatement with it comes to the three tracks on this 7". Hand screened covers and with 8 page booklet. (2009/HALO OF FLIES)

-----------------------------------------------------------
PUNCH - Same LP 10.90 EUR

HARDCORE. Blistering Bay Area Fastcore that is as good as it gets. Insightful lyrics, well-written Hardcore and heavy-ass breakdowns that will most definitely drop the hammers of justice. 16 songs of punishing Hardcore done with heart. This IS Bay Area Hardcore. Limited press of 650 copies so act fast. (2009/625)

-----------------------------------------------------------
RISE AGAINST - Same 7'' 5.50 EUR

PUNK. RISE AGAINST have decided to get back to their indie roots by releasing a 7" on the label where it all started. This self-titled 7" features 2 unreleased and exclusive songs the band recorded while laying down their previous record "Appeal to reason" and will only be available as a one-time pressing of 5,000 copies. (2009/FAT WRECK)

-----------------------------------------------------------
ROXY EPOXY & THE REBOUND - Band aids on bullet holes LP/DigiCD 12.90/13.90 EUR

PUNK-ROCK. Roxy Epoxy made a lasting impact on the punk community in her former band, THE EPOXIES. Now, freshly rejuvenated and ready to tackle the music industry with both fists and a great set of pipes, Roxy embarks on the next chapter of her musical career with her newly-minted band ROXY EPOXY & THE REBOUND. This result is a dynamic album of punkified New-Wave and synth-infused Punkrock that stomps when it should skip and gallops when it should sway. The herky-jerky pop BANSHEE-esque goodness hearkens the early anarchic days of the London Underground. (2009/DAMAGED GOODS)

-----------------------------------------------------------
SCREAMING FEMALES - Power move LP 10.50 EUR

PUNK. SCREAMING FEMALES bring the sweaty intensity of basement Punk to a new level with their third and most scorching full-length, "Power move". Their urgent vocals, gritty guitar solos, and iron-strong rhythms have garnered the attention of Spin Magazine, Maximum Rock n Roll and everyone in-between. "Power move" has a startlingly original sound that incorporates elements of Hendrix-like jazz-fusion, screamed post-Punk vocals, electrically charged basslines, and hypnotic melodies. In a nutshell, it's Indierock with shredding. LP includes a download code! (2009/DON GIOVANNI)

-----------------------------------------------------------
SETBACK - Unfinished business MCD 7.90 EUR

HARDCORE. NYHC monsters SETBACK return with their first record in 12 years, a 7-track CDep that is raw, unpolished and angry, bringing to mind bands like MADBALL, BULLDOZE, COMIN CORRECT and DISTRICT 9. (2009/DIY)

-----------------------------------------------------------
TALL SHIPS - Voyages LPcol 9.90 EUR

HARDCORE. Eleven tracks of passionate and melodic 'modern' Hardcore from Grand Rapids, MI. These guys are friends with the entire BROTHERS crew (maybe sharing members as well) and it shows. From fast and short (HCP) to slow and (a little) heavy, this one has it all. Add to that some gang vocals, truly great melodies and a powerful vocal delivery that brings it all home, and you have "Voyages" Fans of everything from COMEBACK KID to CHAMPION, give this a try, these songs rule! (2009/ASSAULT)

-----------------------------------------------------------
THIS IS MY FIST / FIFTH HOUR HERO - Split 7''col 3.90 EUR

PUNK. Late one night in the laboratory, a fiendish plan to splice two organisms - devious though it was - came to fruition! Fear! Terror! Scary! Moisture! Yes, it is so... the creature lives and walks the Earth! TIMF follow up their "A history of rats" album with this new song. Gritty, catchy Punk with Annie's great, scratchy vocals. FHH turn in what may well be their final song. Great dual male/female vocals... as always, a favorite. Colored vinyl! Cover art by Ryan Woods (Defiance, Ohio). (2009/NO IDEA)

-----------------------------------------------------------
VIVISICK - Respect and hate LP 12.50 EUR

HARDCORE. Great manic Hardcore / Thrash band from Tokyo / Japan. Fast powerfull songs with choral vocals which reminds me legendary bands like SYSTEMATIC DEATH or GAUZE. The band has already released two 7" records, a split 7", many songs on compilations and a split LP with MUKEKA DI' RATO on Sound Pollution records. (2009/INSANE SOCIETY)

-----------------------------------------------------------
WITCH HUNT - Burning bridges to nowhere CD 12.90 EUR

HARDCORE-PUNK. Vinyl postponed to 18.05.2009. Philadelphia, PA co-ed Anarcho screamers WITCH HUNT do their dirty deeds for the first time on Alternative Tentacles. Formed in 2001 as a New Jersey trio, WITCH HUNT's political lyrics and breakneck speeds recall the Hardcore of yore. Fans of Alternative Tentacles' BlackNoise imprint and groups like I OBJECT, NAUSEA, and even DISASTER STRIKES will find comfort in the familiar sounds here, but anyone into melodic Punk with screaming female vocals a la DISTILLERS should also fall in line. (2009/ALTERNATIVE TENTACLES)

-----------------------------------------------------------
ZAO - Awake? CD 10.90 EUR

HARDCORE. "Awake?" will sound immediately familiar to anyone who has followed ZAO’s convoluted, controversial and altogether exciting career, with its signature all-out heaviness and beautifully simple memorability. "Awake?" stands easily beside the best and brightest of the ZAO catalog, with the kind of production (courtesy of guitarist Scott Mellinger himself together with AS I LAY DYING vocalist Tim Lambesis and Daniel Castleman) that ZAO has always deserved. Thunderous, epic, and full of passion, ZAO (Greek for “alive”) is driven by vocals that exorcise singer Daniel Weyandt’s demons as if his life depended on the songs. His words reshape a personal history wrought with tragedy, suicide and death into beautiful musings that connected with their brutal honesty and naked self-observation. Mellinger, the band’s primary songwriter, adds melodic vocals as well. ZAO’s storied career was documented on the two-disc "The lesser lights of heaven" DVD and the luminaries of today’s heavy music scene are well aware of their debt to the band. Dan, Scott, Marty and Jeff reconvened for "Awake?", their first album of new material in three years. The record was produced and engineered almost entirely by Scott in Pennsylvania, with Daniel Castleman and AS I LAY DYING vocalist Tim Lambesis producing drums in Southern California and handling the mixing. Longtime friend and Grammy nominated graphic designer Ryan Clark returned to handle the packaging, with some artwork from Dan’s close friend, Gabe Felice. ZAO’s latest album wants to step into your consciousness, unnerve you, make you think. Are you truly…Awake? (2009/FERRET)
