1) WELCOME THE …
... new staff. In time for the 2 year anniversary of BLACKTOP Records (February 10th, 2006 was the day the label started), the label will no longer be a one-man label. My friends Matze Brügge (Carthago Music Company and the infamous Waterdown Merchguy) and Basti Schröer (Storm & Stress vocalist) joined the staff to help giving the bands the hugest support possible.
Besides, we'd like to introduce a new family member. We are proud to announce that our long-time friends in WATERDOWN signed to BLACKTOP Records. We'll be releasing a MCD as a preview on the upcoming album (scheduled for fall 2008) in May, in time for their LIGHTS CAMERA REVOLUTION Tour (with Narziss, Zero Mentality and Final Prayer). More information on that one soon!
Christian Kruse, Bassist in Waterdown, says: „We are very excited about putting our music out on BLACKTOP Records. It's our own choice to have our new stuff released by a label from our area. Two of us live in Ibbenbüren, we practice there, and we had our first ever show and every record release show to date in Ibbenbüren. BLACKTOP Records has a great roster of bands, and Niko is a great guy who has always backed us. We are free from other obligations right now and we really wanna taste this freedom. Our ep will contain three new Waterdown-songs and a bunch of coverversions. We will record it in our drummer Phil's own new studio, and it will surprise a few people.
There will be a record release show in Ibbenbüren on may, 11th at JKZ Scheune. Right after that we will be doing a great tour called LIGHTS CAMERA REVOLUTION Tour 2008, with Narziss, Final Prayer and Zero Mentality. Our new full-length record will be out later this year, and this EP on BLACKTOP Records should give you a taste of what's to come. Something different, something not on Victory (oh god, yes!!), and something that will not be misunderstood as a part of a thing we've never felt connected with. No fringes, no tight pants, no trend garbage.“

JUST WENT BLACK will play three selected shows down in the dirty south of Europe. After playing a really successful tour in Summer 2006 with their friends from Portugal, they once again tour together to promote their releases on BLACKTOP Records and ASSAULT Records. 6) STORM & STRESS TOURING IN MARCH
STORM & STRESS will go on a longer tour in March, focusing on the UK, Germany, Austria and Switzerland to keep on promoting their debut MCD and the vinyl version of their debut EP, released by Cobra X Records. They will hit the studio in two weeks to start recording with Phil Meyer from WATERDOWN. Plans to be announced soon.

NOTHING TO HIDE are giving up due to family business. They’ve left a great EP and we’ll surely miss them. Henne joined Against Your Society and the rest of the gang either joined the real life, or will join some cool Hardcorebands really soon.
And after being on tour for dozens of years, ENDSTAND decided to take a break for an uncertain period. We’ll keep you posted on this topic, but right now, the band is inactive, focusing on family and jobs.

- The new website took me way to much time!!!
- We will hopefully be able to announce a milestone in the BLACKTOP Records history really soon. So check the website frequently, hmkay? Standing on the street corner waiting for no one is power!
