A Wilhelm Scream: career Suicide Lp ass card records 10.00€
Wilhelms fourth album; another noticeable tick is that these dudes have most definitely been taking notes from Propagandhi in the songwriting department – in fact, the musical parallels between this and Propagandhi’s Today’s Empires, Tomorrow’s Ashes are thickly apparent (something the band themselves would probably admit, as it was one of their biggest influences in the recording), even down to the short run-time, short song-length (most of the songs never go above 2 minutes and change), highly aggressive, in-your-face attitude and steps away from their more melodic, pop-punk aspects. An album universally praised for its energy, aggression and innovation in a mostly dead skate-punk scene.

Adem: Takes Do-lp domino
This carefully crafted album of covers features original material of the cream of independent and avant instrumental artists of the recent past: Bedhead, PJ Harvey, Lisa Germano, Pinback, dEUS, Aphex Twin, Yo La Tengo, Smashing Pumpkins, Tortoise, Bjork, The Breeders, and Low. Adem's two critically acclaimed albums, the growing influence of his original band, Fridge, and curating the "Homefires" festival has made him the toast of the new folk scene in the UK and the US. 17.50€

Akephal: s/t CD narshardaa
Finally after all the years here comes the reissue of the Akephal 12inch which originally came out back in 1997. This CD was supposed to have the recordings for their second and unreleased 12inch too, but these stupid drunk punks lost the master while they drunk a billion of beers and were partying hard with the Narshardaa guys... (+) But guess what, they re-recorded five unreleased songs for you and we also put it on the CD. Everything is newly mastered and includes the recordings of the 12inch, a compilation song, the 5 unreleased songs and some bonus stuff. Not the single, because it fuckin' sucked, but who cares? The new material is still dark and brutal hc inspired by bands like URANUS, ACME or HIS HERO IS GONE with who they were supposed to tour before they split up some time before this could happen. nothing else we have to say, listen to this cd as it speaks for itself. 9.50€

Ariel Pink/ Half-handed Cloud: Unusual Animals Vol 3 Asthmatic Kitty
After years of recording in relative seclusion in the hills of Los Angeles, Ariel Pink (the first non-Animal Collective member on the Paw Tracks roster) made his official Paw Tracks debut with The Doldrums. Recording at home with a guitar, bass, keyboard, and 8-track (the drum sounds are all unbelievably created with his mouth), Ariel Pink blends Lite FM and warped lo-fi pop into something beautiful and confusing, yet highly addictive. Ariel Pink's excess of ideas, alongside his determination to make music from a trance-like state of privacy, places him among characters like R Stevie Moore, Daniel Johnston, or a young Kate Bush. Full of spirited humor, Half-handed Cloud dissolves any obstacles standing in the way of his innocent bulldozing, jam-packing a sixties sensibility, the touch of a lullaby, and murmurs of divine redemption into micro-narrative and Casio sound effects. Just as fingers begin to snap in time, the artist wraps it up and crackles to conclusion. A trombonist since the age of ten, Ringhofer picked up the guitar as a teenager while recovering from toe surgery. Watching the artist equip himself with the sounds of a 1960's era Sears particleboard guitar, air organ, chattering dolls, stomping on the kitchen floor, and various sixties-pop influences, one may begin to perceive an invisible pattern in the songster's art deco rug. This is the third in a series of vinyl-only releases. The series, entitled Unusual Animals, pairs Asthmatic Kitty roster artists with friends and sometimes-unlikely bedfellows. Each record includes a beautiful rendering of one of Mother Nature's stranger inhabitants by illustrator Jared Chapman. This limited-edition series expands the Asthmatic Kitty family to include some unexpected folks. 5.00€

Asedio: S/T LP Behind the scene
ASEDIO with people from EKKAIA, NASHGUL, BLACK PANDA, DAS PLAGUE ... etc, etc. A mix of the old D-Beat with the Swedish styled Death Metal, epic open melodies that will give you creeps. Imagine a mix of DISCHARGE and AMON AMARTH. 9.00€

Atmosphere: When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold Do-LP
The prolific duo of Slug and Ant offer their sixth studio album, presenting their storytelling, songwriting, and musicality at its finest. 17.00€

Blood and Time: S/T 12" Latitudes
5 Tracks 24 minutes. Featuring Noah Landis, Scott Kelly and Josh Graham and recorded just hours before Neurosis' amazing 2006 London show, specially for the Latitudes series. -Blood And Time are Noah Landis, Scott Kelly and Josh Graham of Neurosis. -This recording was made specially for the Latitudes series and is the follow-up to 2004's stunning At The Foot Of The Garden. -As usual this Latitudes CD release is in fancy packaging! “Whenever Neurosis comes to town, it's certainly an event. There's a palpable sense of excitement and anticipation, as much for the rarity of the occasion as their unbelievable sovereignty over the live experience... It's a cliche for sure, but if I were to encourage people to see one band before they die, Neurosis would be top of that list. It was November 2006, almost a year since their last excursion to our Sceptered Isle, but this weekend was going to be even more unique. Not only were we going to be treated to a Neurosis performance of stellar proportions, but Scott Kelly, Noah Landis & Josh Graham were all going to be in town one day longer to play their debut European show as Blood & Time. Needless to say, if we had to drag them kicking and screaming into our studio, we were going to use all our wiliness to get them to record a Latitudes Session whilst they were here. Thankfully they graciously accepted immediately. I was curious to see if, a paltry few hours after such a cathartic experience as a Neurosis set (which ended in such aggression and chaos), the trio would be able to summon up anything like the level of focused intensity that their sole album At The Foot Of The Garden was shot through with. I needn't have worried. As I walked along the hallway towards the control room, the hairs on my arms stood on end when I registered an eerily familiar melody issuing forth, played slower, and with more gravitas than I was used to hearing it. It took a moment to place the song as the vocals were not there yet. I was hearing a skeletal version of the Townes Van Zandt's enigmatic chiller Rake being played with the conviction of a condemned man. I realised there and then that we had another magical Latitudes moment on our hands. Listening to the finished session, with its sense of unhurried, unfolding majesty, it's odd to imagine that it was recorded in such an on-the-hoof manner in a matter of hours, before racing across the capital to play one of the best live sets I have ever witnessed. I hope this session provides an ample insight into that weekend's entertainment, and acts as a suitable souvenir to all who were there to witness it. ” 15.00€

Blueneck: Scars of the midwest LP Denovali
hailing from north somerset, uk, blueneck formed in the early part of 2000 initially as a four piece. they soon added a fifth member to enable a fuller live sound and have since played with such acts as aereogramme, crashland, cult of luna, i like trains and thirteen senses. steering away from conventional songwriting, blueneck’s music has developed into a cinematic soundscape of ambient atmospherics, dark skeletal rhythms, haunting vocals and swirling crescendos, all created with analogue synths, sparse piano and huge, soaring guitars. they operate in a similar post-rock territory to that of godspeed! you black emperor, sigur ros and mogwai with a nod in the direction of radiohead’s kid/amnesiac period. blueneck self-released this first full length album in 2006 after having spent a year and a half locked away recording in the hills of deepest somerset, having delivered a dark, dynamic masterpiece which puts the band truly in a class of their own. scars of the midwest is now finally available on vinyl. 10.00€

Burn the 8 Track: Fear of falling skies lp Ass card records
This winnipeg based four-piece has built a strong sound and an album which will hold it’s own in the ever growing horizon of music. With choruses that are equal parts pop hook and edgy delivery, melodic and emotional but definitely not emo, driving and aggressive but not quite punk or hardcore, Burnthe8track are unique in their own right. There is a lot of youthful energy in the music, and lyrically it is intelligent and political. Even the anger on this record comes across as anthemic. The lengendary Serpico (aka Sleeper) is a great reference indeed! 10.00€

Butcher The Bar: S/T LP Morr
This is the debut full-length release by Britain's Joel Nicholson for Morr Music. He has described the cast list of his intimate band as "me and my bedroom." In Manchester, the songs of Butcher the Bar fill a small house, but soon these walls won't be the only ones in which they live. "Make this house a home" could be the phrase that matches this atmosphere. He sounds a little like Elliot Smith, with the persuasive power of his carefully-crafted chords and the immediacy of his softly-spoken vocals. An artist like Joel Nicholson would have been called a singer-songwriter before this word became a catch-all phrase. In the meantime, quiet is still the new loud and home-cooked tracks are still the tastiest and most comforting of all. Sleep At Your Own Speed is a coming-of-age novel consisting of 13 short stories. 15.00€

Death Set, The: Worldwide LP/CD Ninja Tune
Straight out of Baltimore?s burgeoning and increasingly wild music scene, The Death Set throw punk rock abandon onto warehouse dancefloors and come up with something unique. In April, The Death Set release their debut album, ?Worldwide?, a micro-blast of catchy choruses, screamed lyrics, chaos, violence, humour and the reaffirmation of the value of going fucking nuts. From the sheer elated nursery rhyme brilliance of ?Listen To The Collision?, through the repudiation of ?Negative Thinking?, into the micro-anthemic ?Cold Teeth?, the secret to The Death Set's charm lies in their refutation of the built-in nihilism of punk, and the contradiction of abrasive positivity. Through their traveling manifesto, ?Around The World,? the pop and scream of ?Impossible,? the trad-thrash of ?Day In The Wife?, or the complete release at the end of ?Peak Oil?, this is a record of anthems for the best misfits party ever. Johnny Siera and Beau Velasco started The Death Set?s worldwide journey on the Gold Coast of Australia in 2005. A tour with Brooklynites Japanther convinced them that the New York borough was the place to make their music work. Brooklyn, though, wasn?t quite the cheap haven of nutters, artists and musicians it had been a few years before. For that and the grittiness they went to Baltimore. Here they found the perfect stomping ground for the mayhem they had been perfecting. Warehouse parties in the derelict remains of the city?s manufacturing past were the ideal forum for what Johnny wanted the band to do. Taking notes from bands like Lightning Bolt, The Death Set rejected stages in favour of playing on the floor, in people's faces. And crowds responded, flocking to see them, closing in on them, interacting, dancing, fighting, laughing with the group, each buoyed by the other?s energy. Although Beau played a major part in ?Worldwide?, he decided to take a backseat in The Death Set when it came to going global. Johnny recruited a Baltimore native, Peter O?Connell, to double guitar and vocal duties. The group is rounded out by whatever drummer can play fast enough on a fucked up kit. In addition to Japanther, The Death Set have played and toured with the likes of Spank Rock, Girl Talk, Ponytail, Matt & Kim and Best Fwends, and have been remixed by Bonde De Role and Dan Deacon. Although in some ways they share an aesthetic with those bands, The Death Set smash open a long history of blast beat punk, indie rock and hardcore. 18 songs, 26 minutes: prepare for The Mother Fucking Death Set. 17.00€

"Some milestones of rock'n'roll magic are destined to stay where they started, and until now these early Cobras sides have done just that, languishing—like many of the musty 45s that inspired them—in attics and basements in the city in which they were created. But their time has long been overdue, and now here they are, along with a few unreleased sides from those halcyon early days, for rock ‘n’ roll fans the world over to blast loud and proud." Dexter Linwood (taken from the massive liner notes). 15.00€

Efterklang: Under Giant Trees 12" leaf label
Copenhagen's Efterklang make a welcome return with a magical re-introduction to their sound--the release of Under Giant Trees, a limited edition five-track mini-album in deluxe packaging. Recorded in the band's studio, Under Giant Trees evolved somewhat unconventionally. Returning to Copenhagen at the close of 2005, Efterklang's five core members set to work recording the foundations of these new songs, with a view to this stand-alone release. Extra vocals, brass and strings were added, with Edda and Hildur (from Icelandic quartet Amiina) recording further violin parts. Using musicians who had performed with the band on tour, the idea was to capture the songs as they had been played live, retaining the free spirit of their origin. These were uncharted waters for Efterklang, who usually create songs in the studio as they record. The results are mesmerising--at once vibrant, otherworldly, poignant and panoramic. 12.50€

EL VEZ 'Gospel Show In Madrid' DVD Munster records
"El Vez is more than an Elvis Impersonator... he is an Elvis translator, a goodwill ambassador for Latin culture." ROLLING STONE. So, yes, it's not only us praising the King, I mean El Rey! El Vez isn't a conventional Elvis impersonator at all. He takes 50 years of popular music and knits it together to arrive at a revue style of ginormous proportions. T. Rex, The Jam, Iggy, U2 and Aerosmith all go under the thunder and into the blender. "Jesus Christ Lowrider Superstar", "Sympathy for the Devil (Bush)"... the fun never stops!. This DVD captures the magic and entertainment of Elvez live show, this time his "Gospel" show in Madrid in 2007. It looks great with a 6 camera shoot! This film should whet your appetite to be first in line for tickets when they hit up your town or somewhere nearby. 14.00€

End Of a Year: We understand europeans are a sexual people 7"
Four new songs on colored vinyl. As part of the Albany music scene well known for its hardcore and metal, END OF A YEAR wanted to take it in a different direction. Inspired by the Revolution Summer period of the Washington, D.C. hardcore scene (Rites Of Spring, Marginal Man, Gray Matter). This european tour-release contains 4 tracks of melodic post-hardcore echoing D.C. greats. Emotionally charged, this release is the perfect example of what "Emo" was before it was hijacked by big business and pop-punk. 3.50€

Family Man: S/T LP Behind the Scenes
german hardcore band,in the vein of later black flag stuff 9.00€

Gang of Four: Solid Gold LP Fanclub
Solid Gold, released in 1981, is the second full album by the British post-punk band Gang of Four. Two of its tracks, "Outside the Trains Don't Run on Time" and "He'd Send in the Army", are re-recordings of songs previously released on the 1980 Yellow EP. 10.00€

Glass and Ashes: S/T LP No Idea Glass And Ashes enter the fray with their second album: a storm raging, a force of nature unleashed on barren landscapes, rending vast destruction as compelling art. Pummel and rage, burn and seethe, crossing from one side of melodic hardcore straight into the heaviest rock. The past is burnt and frayed. The future is unwritten. 10.00€

Glös: Harmonium Lp Adagio 830
Missing represented perhaps the biggest conceptual leap made during this period of WIRE and was widely misunderstood at the time yet it remains, to the band and production crew, Wire's favorite '70s album. At once more stark and more lush than the band's debut, Pink Flag, the album exerted it's own influence on the course of music history having laid down one of the earliest (if not the earliest) blueprints for the genuinely post-punk aesthetic. 10.00€

Grey Daturas: Return to disruption Cd Neurot
Melbourne noise rock mavens Grey Daturas are in fearsomely fine form on Return To Disruption. Who knew there were this many ways of giving someone earache? From the feedback squeals and escalating density of thick, distorted bandwidth that is 'Beyond And Into The Ultimate' the trio propel themselves to the furthermost reaches of free music chaos, only to retract into the empty warehouse clanking of the title track. at times you find yourself wishing those rampaging drums weren't there, because they somehow rein in the madness, stamping a 'sensible' 4/4 time signature on everything. That doesn't apply to 'Undisturbed' however, which is effectively a four-minute death-rattling, nasal wheeze, which sounds truly horrible - in the finest possible sense of the word. Ideal listening for any post-rock fans looking for something a little wilder and more potent than your usual cod-epic instrumentals. 14.50€

Guapo: Elixiris CD Neurot
Three years have passed since “Black Oni” (Ipecac Records). Four years since “Five Suns”(Cuneiform Records). The new album by Guapo is finally here and thus concludes the recondite triptych they set out to accomplish. Flux is not uncommon here, every record taking on new musical hues and offering disparate ideas and perspectives. However an upheaval in the line-up, which of recent years has been anchored by the trio of Daniel O’Sullivan, Matthew Thompson and David Smith, triggered a change in course when Thompson left the band just prior to the release of Black Oni in 2005. 15.00€
Guided Cradle: You will not survive LP Yellow Dog This is the 2nd full-length by GUIDED CRADLE (named after the orc-horde in the "Lord of rings" triology) from Prague. Nine fearsome new black riders of grand gross metallic crust-hardcore. GUIDED CRADLE achieve a devastating sound capable of shattering the heavenbs. Strong, powerful songwriting, crushing riffs and triumphant raw guitar solo's. Can you hear the growl of thunder? The orcs have sprung forth from abysss and proclaimed to the world - you will not survive! 9.50€

Heavy,The: Great Vengance and Furious Fire LP Ninja Tune
Prepare to burn. Sorry. Don?t wanna put you off or nuffink. But prepare to burn. The Heavy make the kind of dirty, guitar-scorched hip hop soul which leads you into temptation. And then you?re going to burn. The dark side of four boys from the arse-end of Bath, the beast of Bodmin Moor, half man/half wolf, The Heavy specialise in making everything wrong sound right. So successful are they, so good does it feel, so natural, that voodoo filth will be pouring through you before you know what?s going on. From the moment you hear first single, ?That Kind of Man,? you know only exorcism can save you. Combining the gritty bottom end of classic Wu Tang with wall-of-sound guitar wailing and raw blues-soul, it?s instantly recognisable and utterly addictive, Swaby?s sweet-yet-threatening vocal raising it to another level. ?Coleen? is a more stripped-down hip hop groove, with backing singers giving the tune a Stax-on-acid feel. ?Set Me Free? throws acoustic guitar in to the mix for a more laid-back (though still rhythmically driving) number. ?You Don?t Know? shows heavier rock influences, a building pile-up of riffage. ?Girl? gives Swaby a chance to show off his (slightly tongue in cheek) rapping style, over a rhythm which can only be described as Kinks-meets-Marly Marl. ?Doing Fine? is the emotional centrepiece of the album, a downhome blues straight outta the West Country. ?In The Morning? is frugging and flithy. ?Bruk Pocket Lament? sounds like classic blues brought bang up to date and reeling from too much meths. And the raging ?Dignity? ain?t going to stand no fucking with it, seen? The album finishes with ?Who Needs The Sunshine,? which carries echoes of the Bristol scene of Massive Attack and Tricky, but reconstituted as an epic country blues. The core of The Heavy are Swaby and Taylor, who have known each other for a decade. Swaby?s parents were one of the first West Indian families to move to Bath. One of eleven siblings, he grew up surrounded by reggae, Prince and Two Tone as well as the hip hop he embraced so fervently. When he met Taylor they bonded over vintage rhythm and blues and the movies of Jim Jarmusch. Despite starting with an Atari and a four track, the pair soon recruited Ellul(drums) and Page (bass) and began gigging as a four piece. Perhaps their unique sound is in part the result of coming from a town they describe as ?the graveyard of all ambition?. Or some West Coutry leyline shiznit. Either that or they?re just sex-crazed lunatics. At the end of the day, who cares as long as it sounds this good? 17.50€

Homefront: Sacrifice Lp On Rush
Massachusetts based hardcore outfit THE HOMEFRONT has quite a pedigree of previous bands: HAVE HEART, GUNS UP and VERSE. And if you've enjoyed the output of any those bands, you'll be greatly pleased with THE HOMEFRONT's debut offering, "Sacrifice". THE HOMEFRONT play highly energetic and powerful modern-hardcore with a melodic twist - not unlike WITH HONOR or MODERN LIFE IS WAR and the above mentioned bands. The band managed to play over 100 shows in 2 years of their existence, with much more planned upon the near future. The handnumbered and limited to 525 copies contains 12 (2 additional bonus tracks) amazingly written songs sure to blow you away. 9.50€

Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter: Like love lust & the open Do-LP Southern Lord
incredible album from singer-songwriter Jesse Sykes and her band: The Sweet Hereafter. Many of you may be familiar with Jesse Sykes through her beautifully haunting vocals on the sunn 0)))/Boris-Altar album track: "The Sinking Belle". On their third album: ""Like, Love, Lust and the Open Halls of the Soul" Jesse and her band continue down the path of the dark country-flavored rock they are now becoming known for. Along this path they also create songs that sound like the day breaking through the darkness not unlike classic Neil Young or even the Allman Brothers. Some of the alumni that gathered for this album such as Bill Herzog, Steve Moore, Eyvind Kang, and Randall Dunn have strong ties to sunn 0))), Earth and Southern Lord, so although it may seem a strange release amongst our catalog, it really makes perfect sense! What really matters most is the undeniable fact that Jesse Sykes & the Sweet Hereafter make incredibly beautiful, dark, intense sounds. This Southern Lord deluxe gatefold issue contains a exclusive vinyl-only bonus track: "Smiling Serene (Days To Remember)", not available anywhere else! 19.00€

KIDCRASH / L'ANTIETAM: Split 7" Narshardaa Split 7" between Kidcrash from Olympia and Santa Fe and L'Antietam from New Hampshire. Both bands are celebrating the typical mid 90s emo. Meet me in St. Louis: Variations On Swing 12'' Denovali
mmisl threaten to bust the temperature gauge with amazingly explosive, off-kilter drumming that cap'n jazz would have been more than proud of and a million searing riffs that hark back to the irregularity of at the drive in and blood brothers. it is this heady combination of influences, despite the lack of a discernable beat, which sends half the crowd into spasmodic judders - they seem to be dancing but it looks totally involuntary. the other half of the crowd simply stands there transfixed with their mouths open 9.50€

Mission of Burma: Signals,Calls & Marches Do-LP Matador Out of print on CD for three years and unavailable on vinyl since the 80s, this debut record is back with remarkable extras, including two unreleased studio tracks, a DVD of concert footage at The Space and The Underground in Boston in 1979 and 1980, and a 32-page booklet with interviews and ephemera. Vinyl is true all-analog, HQ-180 pressing. "The moment punk turned into art" - Salon.com. 24.00€

Mission of burma: The horrible Truth Do-LP matador The posthumous album, originally released in 1984, has never been available on CD until now. The vinyl has been unavailable since the 1980s. Re-mastered and restored to its correct sequence with three bonus tracks. 32-page booklet contains ephemera, photos, and interviews. Vinyl is true all-analog, HQ-180 pressing. "Combining rock 'n' roll's traditional fetish for pure, unmediated feeling, with a more modern sort of artistic calculation, Burma's music could evoke everything from the Beatles' ecstatic run of Hamburg rock clubs in the early 60s to the lightning-speed hardcore punk that was developing in the US during Burma's tenure. In this sense, Burma can be said to have blithely encapsulated punk's overarching mission: to draw a line connecting rock rebels past and present, and, in doing so, re-imagine and re-establish the music's anarchic condition" 24.00€

Motorpsycho: Little Lucid Moments DO-LP stickman Motorpsycho was founded in 1989 in Trondheim, Norway´s third biggest city, when mainstays Bent Sæther (bass, vocals) and Hans Magnus ”Snah” Ryan (guitar, vocals) were joined by drummer Kjell Runar ”Killer” Jenssen. The first album, ”Lobotomizer”, was released in 1991 after which Killer quit and Håkon Gebhardt took over the drums for many years to come. Gebhardt left in 2005 before the recording of ”Black Hole / Blank Canvas” where Bent and Snah did most of the drumming themselves. With ”Little Lucid Moments” they have a new, permant drummer. Kenneth Kapstad is a also a member of Animal Apha and Monolitich and has played with Dadafon, Gåte, Cucumber and Soundtank. Helge Sten, aka Deathprod, has at various times from ”Demon Box” in 1993 to ”It´s A Love Cult” from 2002 been associated member, guest musician or producer. He´s back as a co-producer of ”Lucid Little Moments”. And Kim Hiorthøy has done all (studio) album sleeve design for Motorpsycho since ”Timothy´s Monster” in 1994. With ”Demon Box” from 1993, Motorpsycho were already laying down the blueprint for much of the stoner psychedelia that would spawn a number of bands many years later. Since then, and several albums later, they have developed their personal style to sometimes include delicate use of brass, strings and other instrumentation, even flirting with pop structures and shorter songs, but never abandoning the original spirit of Motorpsycho and the long classic epics like ”Demon Box”, ”The Wheel”, ”The Golden Core”, ”Un Chien D´Espace”, Vortex Surfer” and Radiator Freak”. With four long, energetic and evolving tracks ranging from 11 to 21 minutes ”Little Lucid Moments” is in every way what many hardcore fans, and there are many, will consider to be classic Motorpsycho in full flight. The album was recorded by Helge Sten and mixed by Jørgen Træen (Jaga Jazzist, Sondre Lerche). Mastering was by US mastering guru Bob Katz and the vinyl cutting done by the super folks at Pauler Acoustics. The vinyl edition comes as 180 g vinyl and the spectacular gatefold sleeve is printed on 350 g extra thick cardboard.17.50€

Murder by death: In Bocca al Luppo 2x 10" murder by death Indiana's Murder By Death layer the vocal sounds of an old saloon with the haunting strings of a Hungarian folk dance and the hard driving rhythms of pure rock 'n' roll, producing lush, orchestrated songs somehow simultaneously reminiscent of Johnny Cash and Radiohead. Added to that thick and intriguing sound are a series of dark and ironic lyrics, combining the mood and tone of Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds with the narrative force of The Decemberists or a short story by Nathanial Hawthorne. This record examines themes of sin, transgression, punishment, and redemption, touching on different lives and different stories in each song. 24.00€

Murder by Death: Like The Exorcist, But More Breakdancing LP Bloomington, Indiana's Murder By Death (Formely Little Joe Gould) is part horror movie climax, part western barroom brawl, and a dash of wintery and ambling layers reminiscent of the Cure. Their first album, "Like The Exorcist, But More Breakdancing' is the conglomeration of all these. There is both hair-raising intensity and fully aware humor; the band garnishes their most dramatic songs with live fire-breathing, ignited drums, and a glowing red skull that breathes fog. Keyboardist Vincent Edwards put it best when he said, "There should always be a place in the world for evil, evil music." 15.00€

Murder By Death: Red Of Tooth And Claw Do-LP Murder By Death play a blend of rocking Americana noir and dramatic post-punk that erased old style and audience boundaries as much as it tested the limits of new ones. And with this album they are emerging as true artists in the zero-boundary sense: cinematic storytellers whose albums come together in an essential whole, and players whose jaw-dropping performances on record make you yearn for the chance to experience their energy up close and in person. Red of Tooth and Claw finds Murder By Death at the height of their powers. LP is blue vinyl! 18.50€

Night Marchers, The: See you in Magic LP Vagrant
After inventing stainless steel and “Ass Kicking Rock and Roll”®, here they go again reinventing the MP3! It’s a new year and another handful of mind-blowing rat turds are flung at the “scene.” Your iPod never sounded as crispy. Ladies and Gentleman…. I present to you the next SoCal, mall punk, stupor group; THE NIGHT MARCHERS!.... apparitions of modern day street warriors that manifest in the neglected corners of subterranean, Rock ‘n Roll lore. Take Speedo (ex Rocket from the Crypt barker/broom swinger, Hot Snakes riff architect, Drive Like Jehu octavarian, The Sultans booking agent, Pitchfork stylist, and lest not forget Swami Records honcho humungous and KBZT 94.9 FM DJ to the stars). Then add the black Irish of Dner (ex Hot Snakes subsonic maestro, current Beehive and the Barracudas legal representative, White Apes roadie and merchandise coordinator, and of course, I would be remiss to not mention his ongoing contributions to the field of recording science at the helm of Strange Sounds recording studio). Now reinforce these bad intentions with Thee Mount Olympus of all rhythm sections. Literally, an all-Greek powerhouse suspended by Ionic fortitude and bathed in a distilled olive oil suitable for the same rectal lubrication that eased in democracy and the Olympics. J. Sinclair K. propels these files with the same vintage overload he brought on the drums while steering Hot Snakes, Delta 72, Bardo Pond and Mule. At the ripe young age of 56, newcomer Thomas Kitsos, aka Titus Gangbangus of CPC Gangbangs fame, lays a heavy pipe on the four string bass guitar. Tommy recently relocated to San Diego from Montreal where his father owns and operates a Greek Restaurant, and his mother is a witch/fortune teller. After one listen to the band’s earliest demos, the Department of Naturalization & Immigration granted Titus a green card with no questions asked. A quick Wikipedia search will tell you no less. 14.50€

Nine Inch Nails: Ghosts I-IV 4-lp Null cooperation industrial Ghosts I–IV, the new album from Nine Inch Nails, sees the legendary rockers explore some serious new sonic territory. Comprised of almost two hours of music composed and recorded over a ten-week period, Ghosts I-IV boasts 36 tracks described by Trent Reznor as a "soundtrack for daydreams". That's perhaps true--especially if your daydreams are particularly dark and surreally beautiful. Swelling synths, infectious (and often maudlin) piano melodies, baleful drones and glitchy textures are the unorthodox instruments employed here rather than the standard guitars, drums and stadium-fuelled braggadocio. The immediate impression is more post-rock than indie rock, with sincere nods to avant practitioners like Sigur Ros and Radiohead. But contributions from the likes of Adrian Belew (King Crimson) ensure the mystical ambience is punctuated with blasts of electric psychedelia, and the NIN sound remains somehow recognizable beneath the surface. A hugely successful and beautifully otherworldly trip to outer musical realms. 34.00€

Onslaught: The Force DO-LP back on black In 1986, the English of Onslaught started an ultimate assault against all wimps and posers with their "The Force" titled second record. The songs had been more matured than on the debut, but the songs didn't lose any brutality, heaviness or speed. On the contrary, songs like the rhythmic opener "Let There Be Death", the midtempo hammer "Metal Forces" or the speed massacre "Thrash Till the Death" with its great break are the best of 80’s extreme Metal 19.00€

OREN AMBARCHI - In The Pendulum's Embrace - Deluxe 2LP Southern BRAND NEW DELUXE DOUBLE VINYL EDITION. Having recently spent time scouring a darker aspect of his music, releasing on Southern Lord, and performing as part of SunnO))), Oren Ambarchi's output of late has taken a turn away from the warmer, more accessible climes of his wonderful "Grapes From The Estate" album. Within the past year or so, the Australian drone maestro has turned his attention to the raw, less sanitised tonal explorations of Stacte Motors and Lost Like A Star, both of which captured Ambarchi at his most vehemently experimental, using elements of mechanical automation to propagate a kind of industrialised drone, divorcing the more uneven, human elements from the compositional process. "In The Pendulum's Embrace" finds Ambarchi returning both to the Touch label, and the more emotive, personable sound that characterised his most enduring work. Clearly very much at home experimenting with lower frequency spectra, 'Fever, A Warm Poison' quietly plunges itself into an ocean of bass, the guitar's bottom end resonating beautifully as a corona of cymbal fizz pans across the spatial field. Via small, gradual gestures Ambarchi reaches the piece's midway point only to unleash some more conventional-sounding electric guitar phrases (you can tell this guy's been spending time around the Southern Lord crew, some of this stuff could have appeared on Earth's Hex album), before retreating into a fug of suspended bell resonance and glass harmonica tones. 'Inamorta' raises the stakes higher still, featuring the introduction of a string section - not your usual ensemble format, but rather a multitracked sequence of awkwardly beautiful drone tones, all cast against a shadowy guitar figure, looming in the background. By the time you arrive at the final piece in this gloomy triptych, Ambarchi's moved his music into hitherto unexplored sonorities with untreated, fingerpicked guitar - and even vocals - floating above the expanses of low frequency hum. There's almost a bluesy quality to Ambarchi's sound by this point: it's resolutely downbeat, yet never quite slips into the doom-laden, metallic sound he's recently immersed himself in. Instead, this is a music of meditative introspection, inhabiting dark corners. Very highly recommended. 17.00€

Missing represented perhaps the biggest conceptual leap made during this period of WIRE and was widely misunderstood at the time yet it remains, to the band and production crew, Wire's favorite '70s album. de Villiers, Karlien: Meine Mutter war eine schöne Frau
541 S. Kartoniert 24.00€

Dornbusch, Christian: Unheilige Allianzen

791 S. Jenkins, Sacha/Villorente, David: Piece Book
Before it hits the wall, graffiti is often planned out in a black book, a common artist's sketchbook sometimes called a piece book, piece being short for masterpiece. Wellworn and dog-eared, these books are used to develop and trade ideas with other graffiti writers, and they may end up being passed along from artist to artist, becoming unique records of creative expression. Piecebook: The Secret Drawings of Graffiti Writers chronicles the evolution of graffiti via images that weren't intended for everyday people to see, focusing on the works of New York City writers active from 1970s until the mid-1980s. It brings together hundreds of drawings, most never before published, reproduced on uncoated paper to resemble the pages of an authentic graffiti writer's black book. Bold works from graffiti history's most important sources or seeds: Zephyr, Dondi, Daze, CRASH, Lady Pink, T-Kid, CAP, and Ghost, among others represent a dizzying array of techniques and styles. Fans of graffiti will find this an irresistible inside look at how their favorite artists perfected their talents. Hardcover. 24.95€

Kage, Jan: American Rap US HipHop und Identität-

60 S. Gebunden 12.00€

Loh, Hannes/Güngör, Murat: Fear of a Kanak Planet

Ogbar, Jeffrey O.G. Ogbar: Hip-Hop Revolution The Culture and Politics of Rap-
In the world of hip-hop, "keeping it real" has always been a primary goal - and realness takes on special meaning as rappers mold their images for street cred and increasingly measure authenticity by ghetto-centric notions of "Who's badder?" In this groundbreaking book, Jeffrey O. G. Ogbar celebrates hip-hop and confronts the cult of authenticity that defines its essential character - that dictates how performers walk, talk, and express themselves artistically and also influences the consumer market. "Hip-Hop Revolution" is a balanced cultural history that looks past negative stereotypes of hip-hop as a monolith of hedonistic, unthinking noise to reveal its evolving positive role within American society. A writer who's personally encountered many of hip-hop's icons, Ogbar traces hip-hop's rise as a cultural juggernaut, focusing on how it negotiates its own sense of identity. He especially explores the lyrical world of rap as artists struggle to define what realness means in an art where class, race, and gender are central to expressions of authenticity - and how this realness is articulated in a society dominated by gendered and racialized stereotypes. Ogbar also explores problematic black images, including minstrelsy, hip-hop's social milieu, and the artists' own historical and political awareness. Ranging across the rap spectrum from the conscious hip-hop of Mos Def to the gangsta rap of 50 Cent to the "underground" sounds of Jurassic 5 and the Roots, he tracks the ongoing quest for a unique and credible voice to show how complex, contested, and malleable these codes of authenticity are. Most important, Ogbar persuasively challenges widely held notions that hip-hop is socially dangerous - to black youths in particular - by addressing the ways in which rappers critically view the popularity of crime-focused lyrics, the antisocial messages of their peers, and the volatile politics of the word "nigga." "Hip-Hop Revolution" deftly balances an insider's love of the culture with a scholar's detached critique, exploring popular myths about black educational attainment, civic engagement, crime, and sexuality. By cutting to the bone of a lifestyle that many outsiders find threatening, Ogbar makes hip-hop realer than it's ever been before. 236 p. Hardcover 22.90€

102 S. Kartoniert 15.00€

Verlan, Sascha/Loh, Hannes: 25 Jahre HipHop in Deutschland
460 S. kartoniert 19.90€

Watson, Gavin: Skins
Perhaps one of the most reviled yet misunderstood of all the youth subcultures, the skinhead look originated back in the 60s as a simple fashion statement. Sartorially proud of their working class roots, the original skinhead was a multi-cultural, politically broad-minded and fashion-aware individual. Favourite music was reggae, soul and ska and key artists included Desmond Dekker, Max Romeo and The Pyramids. Above all else, genuine skinheads were obsessed with their presentation. Their choice of immaculate clothing and invariably Dr Martens boots was the ultimate anti-fashion statement and a badge of both power and pride. Sadly, the fashion suffered a phase of being appropriated by right-wing extremists and for many years was a fashion pariah. However, towards the end of the 90s, the closely cropped look has been championed by a whole new generation of high profile celebrities, including David Beckham and Ewan McGregor, bringing skinhead style back into the mainstream once again. Gavin Watson's critically acclaimed photography of late 70s skinheads perfectly captures a snapshot of this unique youth culture. The scores of black and white shots offer a fascinating glimpse into a skinhead community that was multi-cultural, tightly knit and above all else, fiercely proud of their look. These are classic photographs of historical value. 144 p. Softcover 19.00€
