HARDCORE. BLACKENED seemed to have come out of nowhere, but the truth is that every member of the band has been involved in the independent music community for the last decade and a half. The all-star lineup boasts current and former members of the juggernaut that is HATEBREED (bassist Chris Beattie and original drummer and founding member Dave Russo) as well as current Connecticut contenders and alum alike, including vocalist Jay Reason (THE DISTANCE) and guitarist Chris Legg (FASTBREAK). The EP presents an infectious mix of old- school influences combined with modern flavour reminiscent of LOS CRUDOS, as well as their friendly neighbours BORN/DEAD and DEADFALL. While many of the early '80s pioneers of Hardcore had moved along, the scene went through something of a renaissance with a new crop of energetic kids who had seized the power of the music and molded it into something that was relevant to the style of their times. Fast forward to 2008 and the inspiration for MOUTHPIECE's formation comes full circle with the release of "Can't Kill What's Inside: The Complete Discography" on Revelation Records. The CD contains 3 additional previously unreleased live tracks not available on the vinyl version and an enhanced portion which includes a 13 song live set recorded live at CBGBs as well as a video for the song "Cinder." Formed in 1987 in the Lower East side, Public Nuisance was one of the most active DIY bands in NYC helping to organize and participating in the Squat or Rot benefit shows and the notorious Beer Olympics Festival held every year in NYC for most of the early and mid '90s!
