FOH Booking: THE WONDER YEARS + CHAOS DAYS
Verfasst: 22.03.2009, 19:04
Hey guys,
Not as much hardcore as usual, but this package contain two awesome bands, so don’t hesitate to check them out!!
THE WONDER YEARS are the least emotionally stable "posi" band in the world. It all started as a joke in a suburban basement, but three years later, THE WONDER YEARS are working harder than ever. In the past few years, they've released a full length LP called "Get Stoked on I!," a 7" EP called "Won't Be Pathetic Forever," and a split 7 " with All or Nothing all on No Sleep Records based out of California. The boys have toured hard on a DIY agenda, doing three laps of the full US, a number of runs up and down the east coast and Midwest and hitting the other side of the Atlantic twice (UK & Ireland). THE WONDER YEARS operate on the idea that almost everyone that listens to punk or hardcore in any form is in some way fundamentally fucked up. There's a reason we spend our weekends diving off stages instead of dancing to the latest radio hit at some scummy night club. There are a set of experiences and emotions that we all share without even knowing it and THE WONDER YEARS try to focus their song-writing around that concept. Fans have been quoted as saying that "It's like [THE WONDER YEARS] video taped my life and wrote songs about it." The lyrics, tinged with dark humor and optimism fit over upbeat pop punk with slight hardcore overtones. The band draws comparisons to Motion City Soundtrack, Set Your Goals, The Starting Line, Brand New and more. They work hard, tour hard and have a good time doing it. Head above water this year, boys.
CHAOS DAYS are anything but your average pop-punk outfit. Since their formation in early 2006 they have toured relentlessly, be it on their own or playing with such acts as Gallows, Comeback Kid, Death Is Not Glamorous, Set Your Goals and a number of Headline shows across the UK. With a sound that sits somewhere between Fall Out Boy, Paramore and New Found Glory, CHAOS DAYS give you everything your ears could want. Bursting with their own witty lyrical twists, ‘Under The Wheater’ is a power-ball of dark brooding ideas on religion and morality and the occasional nod to girls of course!
After 7 days with Jason Wilcock at StakeOut Studios (You Me At Six, Fight-Star, We Are The Ocean) the band released their 5 track EP taking you on a little journey into their world. An album followed summer 2008 too! With two knifepoint muggings, a deportation from America prior to a two week east coast tour and countless lineup changes this band has had its fair share and more of upset, but nothing can or will stop it!
