Their debut record, "Sing songs" is getting pressed on wax. This album fits in nicely with the very best of the SWINGIN' UTTERS. If you weren't thinking about it, you would think that you are listening to a brand new UTTERS album. FORFEIT - The lower depths LPcol 11.50 EUR
HARDCORE. FORFEIT is a band birthed by the inspiration that its members drew from the legacy of their local scene. Having all been in previous Hardcore outfits, Steve Hornyak, Ben Shaw, and TomDom felt a strong pull towards the roots of Syracuse Hardcore. In 2007, the group started writing and playing songs in that vein together as FORFEIT. That same year they recorded a demo at More Sound Studio. The following year brought the addition of both Brian McGee and Pat Benson to fill the lineup and the sonic void. In 2008 FORFEIT released their first EP, "Visions", on Reaper Records, bringing the music to new fans as much as they can and developing a great following in a short time. 2009 brings a new LP recording from the group that is being released this fall on Reaper Records. HARDCORE-PUNK. GERIATRIC UNIT (former members of HERESY, IRON MONKEY and HARD TO SWALLOW) are back with another 12 blasts of raging Hardcore that sounds like it was made back in the late 80's. "Permethrin blues", their fourth 12", it's short, gnarly and to the point and had to be cut on 45rpm for maximum impact. It's half Boston Hardcore half middle age men shouting at the world. It's the sound of four people with almost the combined age of 120 still having it. It's Punk, it's Hardcore and it doesn't give a fuck whether you like it or not. PUNK. You wanna be the Party Don? Uh, ah, alright! You'll be it with this record! Damn, in a better world, "I Always Wanted You", the title-track of the new GHETTO WAYS record, would be played on the radio all day (and night) long! Or check out the great uptempo track "Can you feel it"! Can you feel it? I hope so! And "The Feel And The Love" perfectly fits the sexy photo of Jenna--finally on the cover! With "Big Bad Wolf" they even have a nursery rhyme on this piece of wax, GHETTO WAYS style uff course. Could there be a little innocence creeping into the sexiest band in Rock'n'Roll? Ten songs, high score! The GHETTO WAYS are moving away a little bit from their early Trash-attitude, concentrating more on real catchy and soulful tunes, packed with a high level of Punkrock-energy. GARAGE-PUNK. Hey kiddo, if you missed the HEADACHE CITY hit-singles on fancy labels like HoZac you should definitely check out this platter! And if you already know their singles, you should get this piece of wax, TOO, because three of the single-hits are included in different versions! As everybody might know HEADACHE CITY shares members with the brilliant COCOCOMA - and to be honest I don't know which band is more brilliant. As for HEADACHE CITY I can only tell you, that they've recorded a real high-standard Garagepunk-gem with this one. Just listen to great songs like "Channel 9", "Down The Drain", "Shivvers" or "1986" - they'll get in your ear and go down straight into your legs! Or check out "Gypsy" with it's gloomy atmosphere, hypnotizing vocals and a really extraordinary guitar-line. Breathtaking! Have to say more? GRINDCORE. Surpassing the brutality displayed on their earlier 7" EPs, INSECT WARFARE deliver some of the fiercest Grindcore since NAPALM DEATH's "From enslavement" on this LP. Seriously, this needs to be heard to bebelieved. No tech, no minimalist noise, this is pure, straight forward raw Grindcore that no other band seems able to deliver these days. While the larger Death Metal labels are salivating over this band, INSECT WARFARE stay true to their DIY roots and prove that their 1000mph Grindcore belongs in the underground. PUNK-ROCK. For a brief and shining moment, the working-class heroes of MINUTEMEN streaked across Punkrock's horizon, opening minds, moving butts and inspiring awe like few of their peers. This 1983 mini-LP might not be one of their better-known releases, but it is chock-a-block with classic spiels that shed light on the instinctive bond between bassist Mike Watt (who checks in with the cutting "I Felt Like A Gringo") and the late guitarist D. Boon (whose furious delivery ensures that every listener will feel "Little Man With A Gun In His Hand" deep in his or her gut). True to form, most of the tunes do clock in around a minute, so even if one doesn't strike your fancy, the wait for the next buzz won't be a long one. (2009/SST)

HARDCORE. Emerging out of the quiet, peaceful state of Maine in 2002, OUTBREAK has proven to be anything but the generalizations made about the state in which they began. As simply put by Alternative Press, it’s “fast, furious, and absolutely unrelenting.” Playing stripped down Hardcore/Punk in its purest form, OUTBREAK has developed a global following through international touring, landing on five of seven continents to date. Among the headlining tours, the band has given themselves no limitations, supporting old-school Hardcore bands like AGNOSTIC FRONT, modern Hardcore bands like COMEBACK KID, Metalcore bands like MISERY SIGNALS, and even appearances at mainstream festivals with the likes of RISE AGAINST and TAKING BACK SUNDAY. But it certainly hasn’t been an easy ride; vans have been crashed, financial disasters have come full swing, and members have come and gone through it all. In 2009, it’s a surprise in itself that OUTBREAK still exists. Having all been in previous Hardcore outfits, Steve Hornyak, Ben Shaw, and TomDom felt a strong pull towards the roots of Syracuse Hardcore. In 2007, the group started writing and playing songs in that vein together as FORFEIT. That same year they recorded a demo at More Sound Studio. The following year brought the addition of both Brian McGee and Pat Benson to fill the lineup and the sonic void. HARDCORE. Emerging out of the quiet, peaceful state of Maine in 2002, OUTBREAK has proven to be anything but the generalizations made about the state in which they began. As simply put by Alternative Press, it’s “fast, furious, and absolutely unrelenting.” Playing stripped down Hardcore/Punk in its purest form, OUTBREAK has developed a global following through international touring, landing on five of seven continents to date. Among the headlining tours, the band has given themselves no limitations, supporting old-school Hardcore bands like AGNOSTIC FRONT, modern Hardcore bands like COMEBACK KID, Metalcore bands like MISERY SIGNALS, and even appearances at mainstream festivals with the likes of RISE AGAINST and TAKING BACK SUNDAY.
