ANNOTATIONS OF AN AUTOPSY - The reign of darkness CD 13.50 EUR

METALCORE. Coming from the East Coast of Britain, ANNOTATIONS OF AN AUTOPSY formed in late 2006 with the purpose of writing aggressive, low end, dirty Death Metal. In 2008, AOAA released their debut album "Before The Throne Of Infection" which was described as "The first British Death Metal band to make a dent in the worldwide market since CARCASS." Since then, they have toured with JOB FOR A COWBOY, ALL SHALL PERISH and SUFFOCATION. Here is their brand-new album with 11 new brutal tracks. (2010/NUCLEAR BLAST)

-----------------------------------------------------------
ARSIS - Starve for the devil LPcol/CD 15.90/13.50 EUR

DEATH METAL. ARSIS take old school Thrash, technical Death Metal, blackened vocals and a hint of good old fashioned Power Metal and blend them all seamlessly. On their fourth full-length album and second for Nuclear Blast, ARSIS take fans on a history lesson while simultaneously propelling them into the future with their fusion of modern day tech-Death Metal melodies and classic riffage. Vinyl version includes one additional track. (2010/NUCLEAR BLAST)

-----------------------------------------------------------
ASTRID SWAN - Better than wages LP 12.90 EUR

INDIE-ROCK. ASTRID SWAN and her new band, THE DRUNK LOVERS, releases her third album that propelled her straight into the Finnish sales chart. It is slightly leaner and easier musicwise than the former release "Spartan picnic" but still. Astrid has brought an abrasive excitement to her new songs, a sense for clever songwriting and distinctive vocal delivery that now flourishes to the fullest and takes her further in joyful, giant leaps. A beautiful album to stay home with and listen! (2010/CARGO)

-----------------------------------------------------------
BANE - Perth 7:58 AM MCD 8.50 EUR

HARDCORE. This disc collects all six tracks from the two different BANE 7"s ''Boston 6:58 AM'' and ''Los Angeles 3:58 AM'' housed in a gatefold cardboard cover and with a photo taken in Perth, Australia at the same minute as the others. (2010/RESIST)

-----------------------------------------------------------
BARONESS - Blue record DoLP 18.90 EUR

HARDCORE. Re-release. "Blue record" announces the re-awakening of Savannah’s Rock giants BARONESS. "Blue record" is an instant classic, with all the peaks and valleys, textures, and nuances that timeless records yield over repeated listens. Deep and dark; "Blue record" overflows with gossamer melodies and striking, earnest riffs that have become the band’s signature. "Blue record" is the most poignant moment in the BARONESS canon to date. The deluxe edition includes a second CD featuring a live set from Roadburn Festival 2009 and is housed in a lavish, die-cut O-card. (2009/RELAPSE)

-----------------------------------------------------------
BEAT BEAT - Same LP 11.50 EUR

PUNK. I think it was about two years ago when the Austrian Garage Punk sensation called RODRIGUEZ stopped playing. Drummer Nolte didn't really know what to do with his sparetime so he bought himself a guitar and and amp and tried to write songs on his own, recording them with a drum machine. So far so good, but still he wanted to be in the spotlight so he got himself a band and told them to play the songs he wrote. They said yeah, but we will make some changes, kick out the drum machine, you gotta play drums AND sing. Well, it turned out to be a good idea cause some guy in Canada listend to these freshly recorded songs and offered them to do a 7"!!! After another 7" in Bachelor / Milk and Chocolate Records they started to play live more often and even got them small tours and a longer one overseas! After this USA and CANADA trek in 2009, BEAT BEAT finished recording the full-length and gave the recordings to Matteo from the MOJOMATICS. He polished the songs a bit and after "only" one year of production time here is the final LP…. If you catch them live you will soon know why it took forever to get this album done… these guys like playing live and par-tee-ing a lot more than just record songs and do stoopid photo shoots for the artwork… It's really Garage Trash Pop in perfection! Two guitars, bass and a drummer who is doing lead vocals, all sounding like some of the high points of the long gone Crypt and SFTRI era with a mashing of the SPACESHITS more 50's-ish smash-up's and the going off the rails engine block explosion of a lost DIRTYS track! But very DANCEABLE!!! (2010/BACHELOR)

-----------------------------------------------------------
BLACKLISTED - Eccentrichine 7''col 4.70 EUR

HARDCORE. This 4 song ep was recorded at the end of summer in Studio 4 (the same studio as the new LP). It features 2 brand new songs, "Stones throw" and "Eccentrichine", which fall somewhere in the SWANS/DINOSAUR JR./LEMONHEADS realm. Also has a new version of "The P.I.G." featuring full instrumentation (its acoustic on the new album), and also an acoustic recording of "Wish". All copies come with digital downloads. (2010/SIX FEET UNDER)

-----------------------------------------------------------
BRAT, THE - The wolf 7'' 5.90 EUR

PUNK. The BRAT's "The wolf" was originally recorded in 1983 and released on the now out out of print "Los Angelinos: The eastside renaissance" compilation LP and is now available again for a limited, one-track, one-sided single. "The wolf" showcased the band's progression past the more Hardcore/Punk Tito Larriva (The Plugz) produced and Exene Cervenka (X) designed EP "Attitude" and took the band down more of a Pop and Rock road, a la the GO GOs or early BLONDIE, featuring Teresa Covarrubias, one of the first Hispanic female Punk vocalists in the scene. (2010/540)

-----------------------------------------------------------
BUKKAKE BOYS - Same 7'' 4.70 EUR

HARDCORE-PUNK. From Atlanta, GA, BUKKAKE BOYS bring a fast, abrasive style of Hardcore with no pretense and no cheesy breakdowns, raising the spirit of PIG CHAMPION and the rest of POISON IDEA, ripping through 7 songs on this 7". (2010/SORRY STATE)

-----------------------------------------------------------
BULLDOG COURAGE - From heartache to hatred CD 10.90 EUR

HARDCORE-PUNK. BULLDOG COURAGE is a fierce combination of in-your-face Street-Punk and East Coast Hardcore all wrapped up in one ugly, defiant package. Based out of Albany, NY, the band is not easily compared to any other Punkrock or Hardcore outfit around, but it’s not hard to find yourself wrapped up in their world of love, loss, loyalty, heartache and hatred. After listening to the band just once, it’s almost as if they have been with you all along. Their songs herald unique stories of family and friendship that burn right into you. (2010/THORP)

-----------------------------------------------------------
CHIODOS - All's well that ends well LPcol 14.90 EUR

EMOCORE. From a band who named itself after an obscure term used in '80s horror movies, CHIODOS' "All's well that ends well" is more tangible than their previous releases, igniting interest from Metal heads, Pop-Punkers and curious music fans in general. CHIODOS has created an album that defies generic song structure yet continues along on its signatory song-map where no one gets lost and everyone ends up in the right place. For fans of UNDEROTAH and The BLOOD BROTHERS. Now available on colored vinyl. LP includes digital download. (2010/EQUAL VISION)

-----------------------------------------------------------
CITAY - Dream get together LP 13.50 EUR

PROGRESSIVE-ROCK. CITAY makes a joyous return on "Dream get together", the San Francisco cosmic wanderers' expansive third album. Many of the touchstones from CITAY's previous work remain intact - flourishes of LED ZEPPELIN, THIN LIZZY, PINK FLOYD, POPUL VUH and eveb ELO can be heard throughout - but a newfound swagger pushes "dream get together" way over the top. The songs are basically just excuses for the guitars to drift pleasantly heavenward for extended periods, which are exactly as they should be. Layers upon layers of supernaturally blissed-out licks cut
straight to the core of the existential light of the world, leading the listener on a sunset beach makeout party in the outer reaches of their own imagination. Good times. (2010/CARGO)

-----------------------------------------------------------
CLIPD BEAKS - To realize DoLP 14.50 EUR

NOISE-ROCK. When CLIPD BEAKS raged onto the scene a few years back, critics instantly lumped the Oakland-based band into the HEALTH-y school of rhythmic, monochromatically abrasive Noise-Rock. Foremost, this is an album, not just a collection of songs. In fact, it's more like one long song. Every track crawls along at the same zombie-turtle's pace and is imbued with the same darkly melodic motifs that pop up again and again.Everything seems open and airy, somehow light against such a weighty musical backdrop. An acknowledged influence on the group is the timeless and underappreciated proto-noisers THIS HEAT their fingerprints are all over the CLIPD BEAKS' sound, especially in this way. (2010/LOVEPUMP UNITED)

-----------------------------------------------------------
CONVERGE - Axe to fall LPcol 10.90 EUR

HARDCORE. Repress. It seems redundant to use the word “landmark” when discussing their musical canon, as almost every album is genre-defining, but CONVERGE’s run is unparalleled. Releases such as Petitioning the Empty Sky (1997), When Forever Comes Crashing (1998), Jane Doe (2001), You Fail Me (2004) and No Heroes (2006) have established CONVERGE as trendsetters and innovators, setting new standards in Hardcore and Metal with each release. These records have evolved the band (from their thrash-inspired, Hardcore-drenched beginnings to slower, more ominous and atmospheric work to all-out Tsunami-of-hostility hell-bent on levelling creation) and produced new waves of followers and emulators with each successive work. Honestly, has there been a band more influential on past and present “successful” Metal/Hardcore acts as unaccredited? True to themselves and their art, as always, no matter the cost, "Axe to fall" continues to push relentlessly forward, much like a shark that needs to always keep swimming to survive. Where "No heroes" was a refinement and broadening of hostilities declared on previous assaults such as "Jane Doe", "Axe to fall" returns to the more AmRep-inspired Noisecore abrasions of "You fail me" while also updating and making vital the thrash influences that defined earlier CONVERGE efforts (Caring and Killing, Petitioning the Empty Sky) and retaining the Hardcore hostilities and frantic pace so vital to their foundation. (2009/DEATHWISH)

-----------------------------------------------------------
CREATE AVOID - Heart remains CD 9.50 EUR

HARDCORE. Riverside, CA's CREATE AVOID has built a dedicated fanbase despite forming just over a year ago, through supporting bands like TERROR, MADBALL, BANE and TRAPPED UNDER ICE locally. Their sound is as fast as it is heavy, displaying the band's true adoration for technical, heavy music bringing to mind PARKWAY DRIVE and STICK TO YOUR GUNS. (2010/PURE NOISE)

-----------------------------------------------------------
CRIME IN STEREO - I was trying to describe you to someone CD 10.90 EUR

HARDCORE. Releasedate for vinyl 23.02.2010. Named one of Alternative Press Magazines Most Anticipated Releases of 2010, "I was trying to describe you to someone" is the career-defining album from Long Islands CRIME IN STEREO. The record is another collaboration between the band and producer extraordinaire Mike Sapone (Brand New, Taking Back Sunday), and the follow-up to the critically acclaimed album "Is dead". Hailed by fans as well as critics as "The Shape of Hardcore to come'' some of the most ambitious, stunning songwriting melodic hardcore has witnessed in years" by Alternative Press and as "a great album, full stop by Big Cheese, the pressure to surpass the standard set by "Is dead" was great. "I was trying to describe you to someone" clearly transcends anything the band has released to date and is an ambitious, thought-provoking release and one of the finest albums of the year. (2010/BRIDGE NINE)

-----------------------------------------------------------
DANGERS - Messy, isn't it? LPcol 12.90 EUR

HARDCORE. Sarcastic and mentally insightful, DANGERS poke at the foundation of Hardcore lyrically while playing a chaotic form of Hardcore that is all over the map in terms of speed, heaviness and melody. LP includes a CD copy of the album. (2010/VITRIOL)

-----------------------------------------------------------
DRAG THE RIVER - Primer CD 14.50 EUR

POST-ROCK. Over the years, Chad Price (ex singer of ALL) and Jon Snodgrass recorded tons of nice and beautiful Alt. Country and Rocksongs under the name of DRAG THE RIVER. This CD should serve as an introduction to DRAG THE RIVER with 20 selected songs from all of their albums. This is no easy task as DRAG THE RIVER have so many incredible songs. Rounding out the collection is the THIN LIZZY cover, "Dancin' in the moonlight" which was recorded live. (2010/VIVA HATE)

-----------------------------------------------------------
FALL OF TROY, THE - In the unlikely event DoLPcol 20.90 EUR

POST-HARDCORE. Mukilteo, Washington’s own The FALL OF TROY have truly broken their musical mold with the band’s fourth full-length "In the unlikely event". In fact, by combining elements of Rock, Punk and Metal, the trio hasen’t just reinvented their own sound with the album, but has raised the bar for progressive music in general. Produced by Terry Date (Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins), the album sees the act fully realizing their sound and proving how versatile they are as they as tackle everything from double-timed ragers like “Straight-jacked keelhauled” to heartfelt ballads like “Nobody’s perfect” with equal confidence. Fans of adventurous and innovative music will undoubtedly embrace "In the unlikely event" as one of 2009’s most groundbreaking albums. (2010/EQUAL VISION)

-----------------------------------------------------------
GAVIN PORTLAND - IV: Hand in hand with traitors, back to back with whores'' LP/CD 12.90/12.90 EUR

POST-HARDCORE. GAVIN PORTLAND from Reykjavík in Island were already declared one of the best new Hardcore bands after the release of their highly acclaimed debut from 2006. The new album "IV: Hand in hand with traitors, back to back with whores" turned out to be more direct and dirty and less poetic as the debut album. The omission of the Indie elements makes this album an aggressive piece of Post-Hardcore that still has plenty of soul and heart. It doesn't need to rise up to in-your-face aggressiveness levels to demonstrate it, the restrained and fierce vocals and the carefully thought out riffs do it instead. This is once more for fans of REFUSED, SHAI HULUD and even FUGAZI or QUICKSAND. (2010/WE DELIVER THE GUTS)

-----------------------------------------------------------
GREATEST HITS - Saved my life CD 12.50 EUR

POP-PUNK. The second full-length from Seattle’s Glam Power-Poppers. If you heard their first album you’ll know that they got a sound that gets the nut-sack pumping. Think a modern day JONESES but with elements of the UNDERTONES, BUZZCOCKS, BEACH BOYS, DAVID BOWIE and T-REX thrown in. Yeah, this rules and the songs are fuckin killer... this band is not about dressing up and going through the motions... these songs have got soul. Produced and recorded by STEVE E. NIX (who’s on backing vox and percussion too) and Johnny Sangster (CUTE LEPERS/BRIEFS producer). (2010/NO FRONT TEETH)

-----------------------------------------------------------
HIPBONE SLIM & THE KNEE TREMBLERS - The kneeanderthal sounds of... LP 11.90 EUR

GARAGE. Another fine release on Voodoo Rhythm Records which guarantees to get you shaking your limbs. The lads from England once more packed their raw and primitive Garage sound Rockabilly-Surf-Rock'n'Roll well and perfect together in that unique HIPBONE SLIM sound that nobody else can reach. -----------------------------------------------------------
MAKEOUTS, THE - In a strange land LP 11.50 EUR

PUNKROCK. THE MAKEOUTS started long time ago as a RIP OFFS blueprint, short harsh guitar riffs, fast paced songs and snotty vocals. They became well known in their country of Sweden, played with all famous Garage Punk bands that stopped by, and toured Europe with THE HEARTATTACKS (also from Sweden). They got quite some reputation as fun live band and got invited to festivals like ROTTERDAM RUMBLE, PRICKLY PEA BOWLS (Sardinia) and the CHOKE FEST (Innsbruck, Austria). After years and years of practicing they finally learned how to their instruments and got back with a unique mixture of Punkrock and Garage-Pop, they definitely learned their BACK FROM THE GRAVE and NUGGETS compilations and fired them up with some BLACK LIPS, JAY REATARD and KING KHAN & BBQ SHOW… (2010/BACHELOR)

Instantly noting the handclaps, the harmonies and some of the most polite rocking-out ever committed to tape. Their blend of smooth edged Punk and Pop produces music which is sweet, raw, joyous, melancholic, raucous and tender. Perfect Pop without the pretence, basically. Limited Vinyl with 4 bonus tracks. (2010/LITTLE TEDDY)
