PUNK. Vinyl potponed to 30.03.2010. Eddy Current’s third full-length, "Rush to relax", is already one of the most anticipated releases of 2010. Cut last August in a six-hour session at Melbourne’s Revolver Rehearsal Studios, the album combines stripped-down Post-Punk sensibilities with the sheer exhilaration of a four-man musical unit that has created its own language, and will never run out of new things to say. While Primary Colours drew on what Guardian music critic Tom Hughes described as “fast ’n’ fuzzy Garage Rock”, "Rush to relax" employs a Pop ethos more common to the mid-’80s Dunedin Sound of New Zealand’s Flying Nun label, with cascading guitar riffs and precise rhythms shadowing the introspective lyrics from black-gloved frontman Brendan Suppression. HARDCORE. MONUMENT TO THIEVES is a southern California Hardcore band consisting of agnostics, atheists, Christians and straight edge kids. The name was taken from the very influential band HIS HERO IS GONE. While passing on the traditional messages of Hardcore and unity, MONUMENT also dives heavily into current events, social struggles and issues and political injustice. The world is getting smaller and the ability to share information and ideas is getting easier and easier. MONUMENT TO THIEVES would like to take advantage of this and help spread positive ideas and bring light to issues they feel are worth the attention. The KBD spirit of the band and the music fit genuinely into the era of the style. They would fit perfectly into the early Houston Punk scene of bands looking for a place to play. The beat and Indonesian lyrics will cause you to tap your boot, shake your ass, and scratch your head while you’re banging it. But it will always make you smile, unlike your KGB counterparts who haven’t been this confused since trying to understand the argot of contempt sung secretively by bands behind the Iron Curtain.
