PUNK. Long awaited new album, and yes it was worth waiting! - ACTIVE MINDS started in England in 1986 as a guitar/drums duo and have never stopped putting out tons of records through the years. Here are 13 new songs of raw and raging punk with SEEIN' RED-style tempo on a few of them, full speed! Excellent third full-length album and in my opinion their fucking best with a nicely put together booklet. Get this! (2008/MALOKA)

PUNK. Stash away your wine and cheese, enculé, and get them rockin' shoes out, the Marseille-based band AGGRAVATION is going to shake your phono. Originally released on Relax-o-Matic Vibrator Records in an edition of only 300 copies in early 2007. This is damn fine and drifty 77' Punk par excellance with a good wavy hint, somewhere between the BUZZCOCKS, the RAMONES and the WIPERS, all smeared with dirt and armed to the yellow teeth with driving melodies. Eight original songs and a coverversion of REAGAN YOUTH's ''Degenerated''. EMO-ROCK. When you grow up in grunge's hometown, spending your teens with the distant reverberations of MUDHONEY and your adolescence watching processed emo bands cut from the same stamp, it's safe to say your musical tastes have been sufficiently fucked. Seattle natives MAN WITHOUT WAX bring you a record that flips the finger at the carbon copy phrase "sounds like..." The debut release, "Anchor", is loaded with dark, gritty vocals mixed with in your mouth guitars all jam packed in a song structure that resists but ultimately falls victim to addictively contagious tracks. With producer Casey Bates (CHIODOS, PORTUGAL THE MAN) lending his talents to produce the record, it's no wonder a group of kids exposed to the radiation of '90s rock and emo can create a sound like this.

The hoarse and sincere vocals that top it off, and the fact that a lot of the lyrics deal with the events surrounding Ungdomshuset, only adds to the intensity The. packaging is awesome as well - a nice embossed cover to a 16-paged LP cover/booklet with nicely put together layout with loads of cool drawings. CRUST. Finally available, this EP bookends the Oakland crust scene over the past decade. The SKAVEN track comes from the much sought after "Flowers of flesh and blood" EP recording session from 1996 (engineered by Noah Landis of NEUROSIS fame), unavailable until now. Members of SKAVEN later went on to play with ASUNDER, MEDICATION TIME, and NIGEL PEPPERCOCK. STORMCROW recorded their side a decade later, breathing fresh air into a scene deprived of metal edged crust for nearly ten
