BATTLETORN "burn fast" 7" (mad at the world - "Battletorn erupted onto
the NYC music scene with a bash 'n crash hardcore sound and a
take-no-prisoners attitude. Although they started as a guitar/ drums/ vocals 3
piece, and recently slimmed down to a two piece attack, they make the
most of their minimalist line-up with a full on wall of noise sound.
They've got a classic, ragged hardcore sound. Battletorn will bring their
one-two punch of a live show anywhere-- hardcore shows, metal shows,
rock shows, and even hipster-indie shows, leaving many an audience member
with dropped jaws at the near riotous response they often get. This 7"
follows up a recent LP on Troubleman Records.")4.00
CHAMPION OF BLEEDING HEART/ BLACK LABEL split 7“ (mindreal records -
Another bakersfield treasure unearthed... Black Label were from santa
cruz...some say they were pre - yaphet kotto ..but i cant confirm . They
had a very strong born against influnce . Champions of the bleeding
heart was a bakersfield band with members of shahrazad , acrylics , my
increment and vendetta red . On this 7" they have a very strong mohinder -
gravity 7" feel . You might have read about this 7" in Hac's " killed
by emo " column a while back . Heres your chance – all packed in nice
white envelops like all those emo records back in the day. It makes me
sad – since everything has been so much better in the 90ies. hahahahaha)

vinyl w/ unreleased tracks – awesome) 5.50
CRITIC the / DEVICES split 7inch (attacknow - these songs collectively
make up the split. the critic is members of VAN JOHNSON and have
members from canada and new hampshire and new jersey of the united states.
last summer they toured the US with welcome the plague year and ten and
two (with whom the critic released a split 7" with for the tour). as
for devices, they have toured various parts of the US now about 4 or 5
times and this summer and fall doing even more touring. they are
compromised of ex. jesse washington (who once did a split with tunes for
bears to dance to). they play really well driven post-punk/screamo with
poetic lyrics while the critic play post-hardcore with some climatic
build ups similar to that of city of caterpillar and welcome the plague
year. pressed on green/ marble vinyl) 4.00
DIE EMPEROR DIE acoustic 7" (adagio830 - we are so glad to have the
chance to re release their awesome acoustic CD-R that came out 2003 on
friends forever records ... this 7" is heartfelt emo country or however
you wanna call. it goes under your skin and let you cry ... this is maybe
how emo was meant to be back in the 90ies. Music that is written w/
your soul and your tears. But its still strong and powerful ... Yeah.
Thanx so much and watch our for the WILLIAM E WHITEMORE/ DIE EMPEROR DIE
split 10inch - hopefully some day!) 3.50
ENGINE DOWN „Same“ 7“ (lovitt – their FIRST AMAZING 7inch.
Harrisonburg, Virginia's Engine Down sprung forth from the ashes of Sleepytime
Trio, and this seven-inch is an introduction to this intense quartet.
Methodical, intricate, and beautiful guitar musings (featuring original
guitarist Jeremy) lull you into submission only so you can be set up for
the explosion that awaits. There is no time to waste, and Engine Down are
ready to show you how to do the stop, drop, and roll when you realize
this record has you on fire!) 4.00
EVERGREEN "these last days" 7" (gravity - Great 7" right here. I was
suprised Interpunk had this in stock as it goes for quite some dollar
usually on ebay. Still fitting in with it's time(and todays time)this
individual style of emo was up there with heroin, moss icon and you know
the rest. The only band I know to have re-created this style is The Pine,
who are almost indentical in style. So check them out if you want to
here more lengthy cd's/records of this sort of music.) 5.50
FREEZE, the "guilty face" 7" (schizophrenic records - Originally
released in 1983, The Freeze's "Guilty Face" 7" was soon out of print and is
now highly sought after. This re-release contains the original four
tracks along with the two tracks from the "This Is Boston Not L.A." comp.)

FREEZE, the „i hate tourists 7“ (schizophrenic - Schizophrenic Records
has graced the masses with the re-issue of the classic 1980 single "I
Hate Tourists". The A-side is played in a much more new wave style than
their later, more hardcore tunes, while the B-side "Don't Forget Me
Tommy" is more of a Ramones-influenced number.) 5.00
HARVEY MILK i got love 7“ (troubleman - Over the course of ten years,
Harvey Milk has changed the way people think about heavy metal. They
speed up and launch into prog rock guitar riffing at times; at others the
band dabbles with classical motifs that give their sound a baroque
quality, which carries with it an emotional resonance entirely different
from what one expects from conventional rock. The vocals range from
guttural fury to hushed introspection. Perhaps it's those quiet moments of
breathy vocals and delicate strumming, which suddenly give way to
bone-shaking power that make Harvey Milk so totally unique.) 5.00
LA QUIETE - S/T 7" W/ VIDEO CD (pure pain sugar - La Quiete's new 7inch
is finally available after so many delays, 3 brand new songs coming out
with a video-cd that includes 3 videos made by different italians
artists, Blu, Emanuele Kabu and Erica Il Cane,) 4.50
LIFETIME 2songs 7“ (fueled by ramen - This release is Lifetime's first
new material since the release of their sophomore full-length,
"Jersey's Best Dancers," in 1997. The two songs were recorded late summer 2006
in Brooklyn with Jesse Cannon and Steve Evetts. One track is from the
forthcoming full-length album and the other is exclusive to the 7".)

NO HOPE FOR THE KIDS a ngels Of Destruction 7“ (Backwards Masking
Records Recorded in 2005, these two songs capture the essence of what
Denmark's No Hope For The Kids have become in the few years they have been
in existence. Their trademark nihilistic and pessimistic vocals and
lyrics couple together perfectly with the mid-tempo melodic punk rock that
has a bit of an early '80s Orange County feel to it. Members have also
served time in bands like Amdi Petersens Arme and Gorilla Angreb,
drawing definite influence from those bands as well.) 5.00
SEEIN RED/ HAMMER split 7“ (armaggedon - Seein Red, hailing from
Holland and sporting ex-members of Larm, donate three tracks to this split,
while Japan's Hammer lend two songs of their brilliant blazing Japanese
hardcore sound that was originally perfected by bands like Gauze and
Lip Cream.) 5.00
SHOOK ONES Slaughter Of The Insole 7" (revelation - It's not every day
that you put on a punk-hardcore record and feel so carefree; somehow,
Bellingham, WA's SHOOK ONES have achieved that effect without losing any
of the energy and aggression that defines the genre. Slaughter Of The
Insole, a 7" vinyl single, captures moments where the word "fun" fits
perfectly between reckless and powerful these two new songs along with
their rendition of LEATHERFACE's classic "Not A Day Goes By" round out
their 7 minute (or so) debut release on Revelation. You can trace the
SHOOKS' sound back to classic punk bands such as 7 SECONDS and the
DESCENDENTS, and while often garnering comparison to LIFETIME and KID DYNAMITE
their unique style has just as much in common with the aforementioned
bands as it does with JAWBREAKER and HOT WATER MUSIC. Their hardcore and
punk roots shine through, however, in their unique and quirky melodies
as well as their aggressive guitar assault. The scratchy vocals
complete the mix, adding just as much to the music as any of the other
instruments.) 4.50
YOU & I first 7“ ( A reissue of this bands first 7", originally
released on Sage records in 1997. Combining utter emotion, power, and
sincerity, You & I played hectic, chaotic yet melodic hardcore with a dual
vocal sing/scream attack with incredible song transitions and dynamics. The
lyrics and layout are dark, revealing, and powerful.) 5.00

WAIFLE "and the Blood Will Come Down Like A Curtain" 10" (magister ludi
- With this release, Waifle obliterates the raw, live sound of their
previous work, and goes straight for the jugular. A super thick,
ultra-heavy sound, with harsh, gruff and impassioned vocals. Gone are the
metaphors, as Waifle seems to have chosen a more direct route with their
lyrics. Early reviews match Waifle's efforts against the level of Botch
and His Hero is Gone, while carving out their own niche. This CD
incorporates a sweeping, emotional pitch with a heavily triumphant overtone
that ends in victorious satisfaction. The packaging is equally impressive,
creating a compelling audio/visual experience.) 10.50

on a limited 11" format. This time around, they enlist the help from
friends Will Killingsworth (Orchid, Bucket Full of Teeth, Ampere), Joey
Karam (The Locust, Le Shok), and Sal Gallegos (Some Girls) to form a
haunting masterpiece of rage.) 15.00

BIG BOYS "Lullabies Help The Brain Grow/NO Matter How Long" 2xLP
(X-mist - X-Mist celebrates its 20-year-anniversary of existence with the
re-release of the rare records by the one band that had the biggest
influence on our own attitude and ideas! The best 2 LPs by the Texas-Punk
legends Big Boys, including Tim Kerr on guitar (later in bands like Jack
O'fire, Lord High Fixers, Now-Time Delegation and more, currently
involved in the Total Sound Group) - And even though the music was recorded
more than 20 years ago, it still sounds today as fresh, energetic,
inspiring and original as it did back then - one of the very rare things in
life that can stand the test of time! True classics!!! Both LPs,
originally released in 1983 resp. 1984, had being sold-out since many years,
and now for the first time officially(!) available again - packed into
one full-color gatefold-sleeve(!) with the original artwork from both
LPs, plus a poster-like insert including all the lyrics & photos from
the original inserts, plus liner-notes! back in stock) 14.00
BLOOD BROTHERS "Young Machetes" 2xLP (Second Nature - A deluxe vinyl
version of the fifth album from Northwest faves THE BLOOD BROTHERS.
Fifteen tracks delivered with themes of surreal consciousness, oblique
politics and rage, and rocked with a renewed vigor brought out by producers
JOHN GOODMANSON and GUY PICCIOTTO (FUGAZI, RITES OF SPRING). Limited
edition pressing of 800 copies on colored vinyl.) 20.00
CHROMATICS nite LP (troubleman - the first fully realized CHROMATICS
tracks since the new lineup/mindset. Produced and recorded by JOHNNY from
GLASS CANDY, the vocals for Nite were recorded as soon as LENA woke up
from a nap for added effect. The track "Glass Slipper" has intense
vocoder action over heavy Italo beats. These songs will blow you out of the
water. These songs are ushering in a new era for both the band and the
whole “scene.” Just ask the kids!) 10.00
CONVERGE "no heros" LP (deathwish - "Since breaking out of the hardcore
pack with the savage onslaught of 2001's "Jane Doe", Converge have been
the band to watch, pacesetters who have consistently set the next
creative level in aggressive music; their Epitaph debut "You Fail Me" was
named one of 2004's 10 essential releases in Alternative Press. Now comes
"No Heroes", an album that brilliantly combines the textural sonics of
"You Fail Me" with the brutal assault of "Jane Doe"; the intensity of
opening track "Heartache" will simply peel the paint from the walls.
With "No Heroes", Converge and producer/guitarist Kurt Ballou have created
a masterpiece of raw emotion and adrenaline frenzy, destined to sit
alongside other touchstone albums of the hardcore genre." - from the
label. Last copies of the FIRST PRESS) 13.00
DEAD HEARTS bitter verse LP (round two records - Dead Hearts may be the
closest in sound to the beginning roots of punk/hardcore that Ferret
has ever released. After sharing the stage with bands like 7 Seconds,
Agnostic Front and Slapshot, the band has definitely lived out their high
school hardcore fantasy. Before you label Dead Hearts an old school
revival project, you should know that the group is a modern hardcore band.
A band that is raw, discordant and punk at heart but not afraid to
reference metal and rock in their sound. The 14 songs on "Bitter Verses"
hit like a sledgehammer to your chest - passionate and real hardcore
delivered with an unmatched conviction. Now available on vinyl!) 12.50
DOMINIC same" LP (yummy/ ape must not kill/ lilac sky - "The band was
simply established to create and perform music we love. We're a band
that try to book our own tours and concerts, and encourage other bands to
do the same. There is not much future in sitting on your asses waiting
for a big record deal. You achieve the most and get the best progress
by doing things on your own." There you go. Dominic have their shit
together. Plus, they rock pretty fucking hard. They are into it for all the
right reasons, and they do everything with a purpose and passion. tom

DON CABALLERO world class listening problem LP (relapse - Instrumental
music was pioneered by Pittsburgh's Don Caballero well over a decade
ago, and now, five years after the release of their previous full length,
they return with "World Class Listening Problem". This album is made up
of technical guitar work and frantic drumming that, together, create a
sonic pummeling that lets the world know Don Cab hasn't missed a beat.)
14.00
DRIVE LIKE JEHU „yank crime“ LP + 7“ (headhunter – their second album.
Pre HOT SNAKES. A must have) 14.00
ENTRANCE prayer of death DLP (tee pee - "Prayer of Death" is the fourth
ENTRANCE recording, but it is the first to feature all original
compositions: a fully amplified electric orchestra and a high-flying,
free-flowing sense of spiritual theater inspired by the Tibetan Book of the
Dead, Timothy Leary, and Delta-Blues legend Charley Patton. “Prayer of
Death” is a conceptual meditation on the urgency of life-awareness and
death-awareness in a war-torn world; the album has already received some
deep and perceptive critical response in the underground press.) 19.00
EVENS, the "the evens" LP (dischord - The Evens are a band from
Washington, D.C. Ian MacKaye (Fugazi) plays baritone guitar and Amy Farina
(The Warmers) plays drums. They both sing. Their debut album was recorded
at Inner Ear Studios in the summer of 2004 and released in March 2005.
“The Evens Get Evens,” the band‘s second full-length release, was
entirely self recorded in the basement of the Dischord House in the summer
of 2006. The album was then mixed at Inner Ear Studios by The Evens with
Don Zientara. Back in stock) 11.50
EX MODELS chrome phanters LP (troubleman - The Troubleman debut from EX
MODELS. Joined by drummer KID MILLIONS (ONEIDA), the duo adopt a formal
strategy predicated on the perverse manipulation of time signatures,
frantic, nonlinear guitar interplay, and a highly disciplined division of
rhythmic labor. Then they go off. LP limited to 1,000 copies.) 12.50
FIX , the „The Speed Of Twisted Thought“ LP (touch & go - The Fix was
one of the earliest hardcore bands in the Midwest and one of the first
to release a record for Touch And Go. Blazing away with the Necros and
the Meatmen, The Fix is part of the foundation of what would become
Touch And Go. This collection of recordings will be released on both CD
and vinyl and includes both early Touch And Go singles, the track from
the "Process Of Elimination" track, a few demo tracks from the "Jans
Room" sessions and live tracks from a 1981 tour.) 14.00
GINNUNGAGAP crashed like wretched moth LP (Conspiracy - GINNUNGAGAP has
released a handful of records over the last few years, all of them
featuring various lineups. ‘Crashed Like Wretched Moth’ however is a solo
composition by Stephen O’Malley on piano. One laid back, outer space,
droney, dreamy and so hypnotic track of over 17 minutes long, originally
recorded as a soundtrack for the Exhibition of Stephen O’Malley and
Seldon Hunt at the Domino Festival in Brussels in April 2006, where it
played during the entire week of the expo. The B side of this 180gr solid
white wax LP has a beautiful silver silkscreened drawing of SELDON
HUNT. All vinyls come in high quality full colour sleeves, art again by
Seldon Hunt, who focused more on Photography this time, perfectly catching
the entire atmosphere of this album.Pressing Limited to 500 copies.)

HIGH IN FIRE art of selfdefense LP+7“ (tee pee - NOW AVAILABLE ON
VINYL!!! A heavy-duty LP version of the where-the-hell-is-it-now Art of Self
Defense album from former SLEEP axe-slayer MATT PIKE. Six tracks of
bowel-shuddering, bass-loaded Sabbathian groove and warrior/seeker
mysterious imagery. PACKAGED WITH A LIMITED EDITION 7-INCH SINGLE WITH TWO
EXCLUSIVE TRACKS.) 17.00
IN FIRST PERSON "Lost Between Hands Held Tight" LP+CD (paramnesia -
Thick, heavy, emotionally intense hardcore from members of The Assistant,
You and I, and A Petal Fallen. The lyrics, sung by all three members,
question and challenge the lack of trust we have in each other, and the
music is a fitting accompaniment to that theme. Dense, layered guitars,
a deep, driving bass, and intricate yet powerful drums set the stage
for these crushingly intense and earth moving songs. The sound is dark,
foreboding, and oh-so satisfying. The LP and CD come in beautiful,
pain-stakingly hand-screened and hand-assembled packaging. The LP also
includes the CD version.) 11.00
ISIS "In the absence of truth" DLP (consipracy - BLACK - Isis are a
band who requires no introduction. Formed in 1997 Isis have established
themselves as one of, if not the best act within their genre. Although
Isis are notably known as a Prog/Sludge Metal band they defy all genres
with their hypnotising music. I've been waiting in anticipation for the
release of Isis's forth full-length album, "In The Absence Of Truth"
ever since i heard the masterful "Panopticon" and when i heard it had
leaked, i just had to check it out. Isis are a band who are forever going
through transitional stages. They've evolved in every way possible
since the early days of "Mosquito Control" and "The Red Sea", even from
their debut album "Celestial" back in the year 2000. For me, the major
differences come in terms of musical progression and the production of
Isis' music. In the days of "Celestial" Isis' production was hazy and
worthy of their reputation as a Sludge Metal band, but with "The Absence Of
Truth" Isis have developed a far cleaner sound in which every
instrument is easily distinguishable and the vocals can actually be made out.
Another major difference that struck me instantly with this new approach
from Isis is the vocals. Long gone are the days where Aaron Turner
screams his way through song after song, but now there is a bit more
variation in vocals which we started to see on "Panopticon". His clean vocals
are introduced more often than not now, and they're immense. They grab
your attention and are able to hold it for long periods of time, he is
a superb vocalist. He can alternate between styles of vocals easily and
pulls off such beauty with his clean vocals which compliment the music
fantastically. Seemingly Isis have resorted to a more tribal feel,
something like that of Tool. It's a welcomed addition personally. Synths
are more prominent and more easily distinguished in the music. The
texture of the music is also something that has been vastly improved. Isis
spin out some very beautiful melodies and harmonious vocals. Comparisons
are likely to be made between Isis and a number of bands including,
Tool, Pelican and Jesu. But Isis are in a league of their own. This album
is simply stunning, it contains everything you'd want and everything
that makes music great. Incredible melodies, fantastic structures and a
bit of variation from the norm. Highlights include; Wrists of Kings, Not
In Rivers, But In Drops and Garden of Light. Colored ones are all gone.
Sorry) 20.00

KALAS same LP (tee pee - NOW AVAILABLE ON VINYL!!! KALAS is a brand new
band from Oakland, California that features MATT PIKE (HIGH ON FIRE,
SLEEP) on vocals, ANDY BRANTON (ECONOCHRIST, GRIMPLE, SAMIAM, EL DOPA) on
guitar, and PAUL KOTT (MEDICATION TIME, CRUEVO) on guitar. A perfect
amalgamation of heavy metal and modern heavy rock, delivered with searing
riffs and Pike’s introspective and tuneful vocals. Think HOF, Neurosis,
Isis and Discharge all rolled into one.) 17.00
LEVIATHAN The Speed of Darkness LP (Viva Hate - THIS IS THE FIRST PRESS
- A long while back we reviewed a split cd by SF black metal legend
Leviathan and the Bathory worshipping Polish horde Iuvenes. As much as we
may have dug the Iuvenes stuff, the Leviathan material was the real
reason we all tuned in. So now Viva Hate have gone and taken just Wrest's
half of the split and released it on vinyl (this is either the second
or third, and supposedly final pressing), with all new art, printed
inner sleeves, and pressed on INSANELY thick clear vinyl. Here's what we
had to say about this stuff first time around: Finally a little more
Leviathan to hold us over until his next forthcoming full length, Tentacles
of Whorror! This time around it's a split with European old schoolers
Iuvenes who traffic in buzzy blurry black metal, Bathory style. But
let's not kid ourselves, Leviathan is why we're here and Wrest does not
disappoint. Grinding suffocating swarms of buzzing guitars, ultra creepy,
deeply depressing ambience, completely and brilliantly fucked drumming,
haunting Burzum-y keyboards, and that inhuman bowels-of-hell rasp that
occasionally erupts into an utterly terrifying demonic shriek. But it's
the songs, the songs are just so fucking good. So many black metal
bands make all the right sounds, but can't actually write real songs. Wrest
continues to explore and push the boundaries of black metal with
Leviathan, exploring distinctly non-black metal sounds and ideas, but manages
to stay grim and true the whole time. The songs here are punishing and
crushingly dense, disturbing and evil as fuck, but days later, you'll
find these riffs stuck in your head like a crown of thorns! Essential!)

MÖRSER purescum LP (vendetta – FINALLY OUT!!! I don’t think the Germans
of Mörser need an introduction. Their first 2 full lengths 2 Hours To
Doom and 10.000 Bad Guys Dead became cult albums and since then they’ve
built a steady fanbase worldwide. It’s been a while since they released
something new though. In 2002 they released the mini cd Scum, the
soundtrack for a comic with the same title. They were supposed to release
another soundtrack for a comic called Pure but this release got postponed
until it didn’t get released at all.
Now there is Pure Scum, which contains 5 new tracks (the songs meant
for the comic Pure and 4 re-mastered songs (from the sold out comic Scum)
On to the songs. This
still has the trademark Mörser sound. It's heavy, mean, brutal and 100%
metal and the two singers still grunt and scream like madmen. So
nothing really changed since their last full length album 10.000 Bad Guys
Dead. The new Pure songs have a better production than the old ones, which
doesn't make them sound less brutal. 10.00

PANIC strength in solituded LP (bridge nine - Formed in 2000 by the
singer of Boston's celebrated streetpunk band The Trouble and backed by
original members of Boston's groundbreaking hardcore band American
Nightmare and now-Virgin Records punkers The Explosion, Panic was one of the
fastest, angriest bands in the city. They released 2 EPs on Bridge Nine
Records, and broke up in mid 2002. Four years later, Panic is back.
After playing a reunion show in Holland and getting back on their feet,
they've reformed and to support this rebirth, Bridge Nine has collected

original classic tracks can now be heard without flipping the records or
digging through the demo tape collection. Now available on vinyl!) 11.50

PRIDS, the „love zero“ LP (luminal records - The prids began in
nebraska in 1998. Around early 2000 the prids re-located to Portland. During
that time the prids self released “glide screamer” which layed the
groundwork for the prids modern new wave sound. With “love zero”, the prids
proudly defy categories. From somewhere in the layered refractions of
dual harmonies, the sounds glide from the sultry echoes of reminiscence
and regret to the hysteria of realized abuse. “love zero” is a distinct
mix of potent basslines, driving and emotive guitar work, groove
inflicting rhythms and percussion, and daftly layered synthesizers. The songs
combine kraut-rock intelligence, synth-pop accessibility and the
immediacy of punk rock, and then move on to gut-level experimentalism –
razing all points in between. As the Portland mercury claims: “imagine if my
bloody valentine and new order decided to collaborate when they were
both at their peaks. They’d make magenta-charged electro-wave, a crashing
of static guitars with a heavily delicate synthesizer melody and
unexpected drum smatters. The vocals would be iridescent, with breathy
distortion. Imagine the electricity in that dark tension”.) 13.00
SOUVENIRS young america" LP (e-vinyl - Monstrous instrumental
post-metal from Richmond, Virginia, a mixture of spare NEUROSIS/GODFLESH
informed heaviness and cinematic post-rock like GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR or
EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY. Really good stuff, very pretty at times, and
heavy n' crushing at others. These songs are heavily layered, masterfully
assembled instrumental creations, emotionally moving and majestic like
RED SPAROWES, filled with dense shoegazer buildups and gorgeous droning
electronc swirl, massively heavy prog-rock dirges and sludgy
piano-accompanied rock, never descending into boring noodling or overextended
jams. The whole album sounds like a soundtrack for a killer lost road-trip
movie scored by members of NEUROSIS and GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR
doing a weird mix of 70's prog and biker rock, and 80's soundtrack metal,
but with all sorts of forays into lonesome, dusty country guitar-twang,
long droning expanses of floating electronic drones, supremely
beautiful and often super-crushing !!! This is absolutely a must get for fans
of heavy instrumental ambient metal/post-rock and soundtrack-influenced
heaviness (ZOMBI, CHROMELODEON). Very very highly recommended!!!!

STAND AND FIGHT together we win LP (bridge nine - This is Stand &
Fight's debut full-length, after two well received EPs on Bridge Nine.
Fourteen songs deep, including a re-recorded version of their classic track
"I Won't Break," Stand & Fight aren't re-inventing the wheel but they
play aggressive, sincere, hardcore well and will no doubt inspire kids
these days in the same way bands like Youth Of Today and Chain Of
Strength did fifteen years ago. Now available on colored vinyl!) 11.50
THESE ARMS ARE SNAKES "Oxeneers Or The Lion Sleeps When Its Antelopes
Go Home" LP (Second Nature Recordings - Formed from the ashes of seminal
art thrashers Botch and Minneapolis hardcore heroes Kill Sadie,
Seattle's These Arms Are Snaked are filled to the brim with sinister guitar
licks, equal parts snarly vocals and a pension for ethereal and
spaced-out musical interludes. The album sparkles with a tight, visceral
momentum, both angular and infectious.) 12.00
THINK I CARE world asylum LP (bridge nin e - Think I Care has only
recently begun to earn the respect and recognition they've long deserved.
Musically, picture four guys who grew up on early 80s Boston hardcore,
give them copies of Celtic Frost's "Morbid Tales" and Sheer Terror's
"Just Can't Hate Enough" and witness the mongrel it spawns. Lyrically,
singer Jason Clegg's bitter and spiteful words reflect growing up an
outcast in the industrial town of Winchendon, Mass, hit hard by factory
closings and economic recession. Winchendon also has a rich tradition of
producing some of the ugliest sounding hardcore to ever come out of the
state, and Think I Care is no exception. Never dramatic, these guys
play the best kind of hardcore; abrasive, and totally genuine. Now
available on vinyl!) 11.50
TORNAVALANCHE "No Money, No Problems" LP (level plane - It seems that
Tornavalanche has once again struck paydirt with their newest EP "No
Money, No Problems," a split release with Init Records and Level Plane
Records. The double drummer action of Tornavalanche, sets a furious pace
that the guitar players can barely keep up with. At times
Tornavalanche's "No Money, No Problems" seems slightly derivative of Ten Grand or
Forstella Ford, but evidently members of Tornavalanche did session work
with these bands in the late '90s and into this century. "No Money, No
Problems" sets a gold standard for the 2006 hardcore/indie/noise/double
drummer genre, and considering the impending bull market in gold, you
would be very wise to purchase multiple copies of this album.) 11.00
TRIPLE THREAT into the darkness LP (bridge nine - The idea was simple
and natural, yet its distinction lay in the details: straight edge
hardcore rooted in the message and power of Minor Threat and Youth Of Today
that also nods in appreciation to the bands that Tim McMahon
(Mouthpiece, Hands Tied, Face The Enemy) and Ed McKirdy (Hands Tied, The Killing
Flame, Face The Enemy) had dissected through their youth. Black Flag,
SSD, The Germs, Motorhead, Corrosion Of Conformity, Circle Jerks,
Bl'ast! and Danzig were just a few bands whose contributions have rubbed off
heavily on the conceptualization of this new McMahon/McKirdy unit. Now
available on vinyl) 11.50
ULTRA DOLPHINS mar LP (robotic empire - ULTRA DOLPHINS debut album,
briefly titled "MAR", represents a fairly major departure from the band's
previous spazz-oriented, garage band freak-outs. Without losing focus
on songwriting, the off-kilter structures move continually forward
building up frantic but calculated momentum. Several piano tracks accompany
drums and noisy guitars along with well-placed vocal melodies. The
result is a dizzying but somehow unified listening experience which
features a band at the height of their creative prowess. The packaging for
this thing is equally intense, with a nice full-color jacket and large
12-page song book. A solid debut album to say the least, and a true
masterpiece to say the most!) 11.00
USA IS A MONSTER sunset at the end of ... LP (LOAD - NOW AVAILABLE ON
VINYL!!! The fifth release as a two-piece from Bedford-Stuyvesant, New
York duo USA IS A MONSTER. Ten tracks that roar from start to finish,

Lightning Bolt, but with the band’s own ideas of pure rockulation.) 13.00

HE WHO CORRUPTS Microeconomics Cdep + Wallet (level plane - "As any
high performing organization would, Hewhocorrupts continues to out perform
past offerings by putting forth a bold and innovative new 3" credit
card sized CDEP, appropriately titled "Microeconomics". Further
capitalizing (no pun intended) on their 2006 strategic marketing campaign
"Knowing Your Wallet", "Microeconomics" has pushed packaging standards, opting
to be encased in an actual wallet instead of the industry standard
jewel case. Complete with a receipt, wallet size band photos, and the ever
so important business card, analysts have already started to recast HWC
earnings predictions for the 4th quarter. "Microeconomics" was the
brainchild of the international alignment of several industry powerhouses
including: Level Plane, Eugenics Record Label, Hewhocorrupts Inc., Mike
Fitzgerald Records, and Bloom Explode." - From the label) 9.00

LUMEN An Anthology Of Previously Released Songs CD (day after - "An
Anthology Of Previously Released Songs" contains all songs from "Raison
d'etre" album and self titled 12" which was previously available on vinyl
format only and is out of press for a few years. In total 7 long
opuses, tersely named "Lvmen 1.... Lvmen 7", over one hour of desperation.
Long and groovy songs where Lvmen build dark, monumental sound walls and
tear them down with atmospheric instrumental fields. Teasing keyboards,
captivating female vocal and sampled sequences from 60's movies will
leave you with ruffled nerves. That all is tied together by astonishing
drummer. Brutal music blending the apocalypse of Neurosis, math-metal of
Isis, desperation of Swans and nervousness of Slint' "Spiderland"
album. CD comes with remastered sound and with whole new artwork as a
digipack edition. ) 11.00
SURFJAN STEVENS Songs For Christmas 5xCD (asthamtic kitten - Never one
to lack ambition, indie-pop hero Sufjan Stevens takes the
tried-and-true holiday album to a new level with this 2006 five-disc Christmas box
set. A mix of Stevens originals and Yuletide classics recorded between
2001 and '06, the collection presents the amiable
singer/multi-instrumentalist performing festive self-penned tunes such as the bouncy,
piano-driven "Come On! Let's Boogey to the Elf Dance!" and the White
Stripes-referencing, ELO-influenced "Get Behind Me, Santa!" along with no less
than three versions of "O Come, O Come Emmanuel." While five discs may
seem exhausting to some, for those who adore both Christmas and Stevens,
this lovingly assembled compilation makes for hours of smart,
celebratory fun.) 22.00

BOOKS/ MAGS
GLEN E FRIEDMAN "recognize" Book (Consafos Press - HARDCOVER. This is a
new collection of Friedman's work, based solely on his most recent
artistic studies. This incredible book is the first of all of Glen E.
Friedman's books to not use anything from his past archives of infamous
iconic images. It is based solely upon his most recent artistic studies and
ambition. This new book, "Recognize", has far reaching implications on
the world of modern art. Glen E. Friedman's mission with "Recognize" is
no less than 're-aligning the aesthetic' or demolishing and then
re-making the rules by which we view and understand art. Just as Renaissance
artists re-introduced the classical world's honesty and discipline to
art-making, Friedman restores picture-taking to its primary and vital
function: composition of the natural world, combined with a sense of
wonder at the magnificence of what is all around us. These photos are more
pleasurable than one might expect because they are secretly more
painful. They hide an aesthetic shock behind what first appears to be more
picturesque nebulosity. They sneak up on you, gradually becoming more and
more sexual, more uncomfortable. It's customary nowadays to claim we
"distrust beauty" because it has betrayed us. In fact the reverse is
true: our culture betrays beauty and then blames it for its lack of depth.
On this edge, Glen's work is dancing.) 49.50
