This is without a doubt one of Europes best crust acts today together with Nuclear Death Terror. On the split side we find Germanys Instinct of Survival, slow devestating crust with a bit of Evil in it. This is could more or less be one of thouse records that tells you how Crust is suppose to sound. Great split!

Das Teil kommt als Picture-Ep in megafettem Vinyl daher. Okay, kommen wir mal zur ersten Seite, auf der IDIOT SAVANT vertreten sind. Beim ersten Song "Im 3 Schicht System" war ich Anfangs etwas überrascht, teils gar negativ. Irgendwas fehlte. Und genau das, was ich da so vermisste, kommt dann beim zweiten Track "Held der Arbeit" voll zu Geltung. Nämlich schöner HC/Screamo in einen herrlich düsteren Sound verpackt. DEANIMATION sind dann auf der B-Seite am Start. Bis dato eine für mich völlig unbekannte Band. Gerüstet mit 2 Granaten knüppelt man sich hier durch ein sehr feines HC/Punk-Gemisch, inklusive wunderbarer Melodien und gepaart mit aggressivem Gesang. Super Scheibe! Look out! This is an amazing split featuring two sick ass grind bands that had me totally stoked on a genre I have been pretty tired of for a while. Regurgitate are from Sweden and play grind with a death metal flavor, and their production on these tracks is overpowering. Listen to the drums! Noisear are from New Mexico and they are like taking the manical spirit of Laughing Dog and crossing it with a burly dose of Excruciating Terror. The production is not up to the Regurgitate side, so the drums get lost at times, but this side stands out as being something special. Track after driving track, with barely a pause to catch your breath after jumping all over your living room furniture. This split is not to be missed

radio bikini are from holland and first came to ourattention via their awesome performance on the split with makiladoras. on this ep they contribute four more tracks of brutal thrash with a vocal style and delivery comparable to the euro-thrash assault of the first abc diabolo lp. xamorx are from portugal and also deliver four tracks of breakneck thrash, but have chosen to break up their music with political monologues in between. the cover has a stylish open-from-the-center presentation and the packaging includes a really thick booklet of lyrics and writings by both bands, presented in both english and portugese. they obviously put a great deal of effort into this release and it has definitely paid off with a favorable result.

ACRIMONIE / CLOUDBURST – split (exutoire)
Cloudburst from France kick down one heavy song which was a thunderous of mix of slow metal edged hardcore with overtones of emo filling in the nook and crannies. A few parts during of that song actually have a touch of black metal added in. The seconds song is a lot more rhytmic and melodic, with a much stronger emo feel to it. The vocals are consistent and sound super holow and screetchy throughout both songs. Acrimonie who are also from France, blast out some totally discordant trashy emo metal. Their two songs range from mid tempo to fast and and they are mix raw charging riffs and blood curdling screams. The songs were solid, but just a little bit unpolished. In the end both sides were solid, but i preffer the cloudburst songs better. (RC) MAXIMUM ROCK&ROLL

Das kann ich so nur unterschreiben, würde nur noch ergänzen, frei nach den NEWTOWN NEUROTICS: "Don't believe anything you read in the press!", sowie aus aktuellem Anlass: "Never believe what anonymous idiots blog in the internet!" unfortunately the bandname sucks and the album title sound like ordinary german-punkrock
although i don't like the name, it kinda suits...mosh. that's what it is. metallic guitars and screamed vocals. when i swa them on stage a couple of months baclk i was little disapointed. i was expecting mid90s new school and got metalcore...to bad. but this LP is little differnt. it has all sorts of variatons in the songs. from balstbeats to doublebass beatdown parts to silent interludes.
really good lyrics in this one, especially the mixture of german and english inbetween songs makes this special. the production is good and clear and for a debut (?) release this is quite impressive.
MATULA – kuddel (zeitstrafe)
Indierock/intellectual punk from Germany, complete with native tongue lyrics. They remind me a lot of the latest Schrottgrenze album, but without those akward Sportfreunde Stiller influence those lads sported throughout that recording, more into a Mitote kind of way, with some Duesenjaeger influences (but without that sinister, dark undertone). Especially the production reminds me of the gerat Las Palmas OK record by them. The tunes are driving, have nice rythms and good melodies, while staying away from being all too poppy. Those Matula guys manage the tightrope walk between being melodic and providing you with a nice biting edge pretty well. So fasten those shell-rimmed glasses and dance to this! The profound lyircs are all personal and I guess there went some time into writing them. The cover artwork is also done nice and tops Kuddel off really well. Fast hardcore with notable Scandinavian/Portland sound, good measure of rocking riffs and a classic straight forward hardcore feel which probably comes from the fact that most of the boys have been in hardcore/punk bands the last 10-15 years. The new Moenster record called "Arms" captures the equal urgency of debut record, but also absorbed more melodies and slower songs, which provides them this certain passionate, European flavor. Now there is Pure Scum, which contains 5 new tracks (the songs meant for the comic Pure and 4 re-mastered songs (from the sold out comic Scum). On to the songs. This still has the trademark Mörser sound. It's heavy, mean, brutal and 100% metal and the two singers still grunt and scream like madmen. So nothing really changed since their last full length album 10.000 Bad Guys Dead. The new Pure songs have a better production than the old ones, which doesn't make them sound less brutal.

It opens up with a quote from the McCarthy era – red baiting a broadcaster for a Spanish broadcast and launches into a pulverizing flurry of blast beats and lo fi guitar distortion. The Mood's key weakness is also something i've attributed to many a japanese band (though no generalizations should be concluded): they play a light and comforting style of emocore, but don't try hard enough to be creative with it. "mad about ghost" is an album i'm perfectly content to listen to multiple times, even consecutively. on the other hand, it doesn't put up enough of a fight to grab a spot among the elite ranks of this genre. it's a highly valuable 'once in a while' type cd to own.
