RUNES | LIGHTHOUSE European Tour

This time we’re looking to spread the word about an exciting new band made up of familiar faces. Runes is the new project from members of two of my favourite modern hardcore bands: The Legacy (UK) and Gold Kids (Italy). Both bands have maintained strong connections and friendship over the past few years so a joint venture was a natural progression after The Legacy split up in late 2009. Dick Smith and Joseph Hayes from The Legacy and Andre Suergiu from Gold Kids started Runes with a fresh approach, learning from their past experiences to create a dark, brutally honest and unique band that would stand out from anything they’d done before. More certain about themselves, this is a band that knows what it wants. ‘The Age of Enlightenment’ is the first track released from their upcoming Self Titled 7” on Anchors Aweigh Records (Dead Swans, More Than Life etc.) and gives us a glimpse into the brooding, bitter world Runes is growing out of. Runes first steps have been well received, generating a lot of excitement and I am more than sure this band is going to be a big thing soon.

Also on the bill we have Lighthouse from Germany, another band on Anchors Aweigh Records. This promising group have been compared to the likes of Converge and November Coming Fire and have toured Europe a couple of times; collecting fans every time they hit the stage. Their debut release ‘Abyssus Abyssum Invocat’ has had great reviews and fuses cold melodic harmonies with dark, crushing riffs. Lighthouse has played shows with the likes of The Hope Conspiracy, Rise and Fall, The Carrier and Dead Swans. This is a band going from strength to strength.

Backline: The bands will bring a complete backline that cannot be used by the other bands, if not agreed otherwise.
