This is their debut full-length that matches Pop sensibility and form with visceral, manic noise. Sounds kinda old SONIC YOUTH stuff. "Silver Year" is comprised of new and old from the band's first year of existence: re-recorded takes from the ''Goodbye to all that'' and ''You shot me'' and ''I woke up in my next life'' cassettes weave a story alongside newer material. The record up for review is an extra ultra awesome split between Lions Tigers and Whales & State Violence ? both bands bring it on & that’s on the real. State Violence bangs out uber killer lo-fi d-beat noise, the kind that gets me drunk on electric feedback. On this 7 inch, they give 5 short bursts of raw as fuck radical sonic violence; I suggest listening to it at very loud volumes, because it might cause brain damage! State Violence’s music has this real cool blackened distortion that runs through all of their songs, plus their tunes are catchy in a subversive way, which makes me keep their shit on repeat! The Lions Tigers and Whales side is two quick blows to the grill, leaving me wanting for more pain. This band makes noise that hits these epic tones of hope & joy. (2011/CRICKET COMETERY)

Continuing where 2008’s ''Stay Cold'' EP left off, "Secrets of the world" is the 12 track full-length from Maryland’s new standard bearers of Hardcore. The album is designed to inspire self-reflection in a world that leaves you beaten and bleeding. TRAPPED UNDER ICE - Stay cold 7'' 4.70 EUR

HARDCORE. Repress! Hailing from the port city of Baltimore, Maryland comes the war-mammoth known as TRAPPED UNDER ICE, who proudly inherit and build upon the mantle of their predecessors NEXT STEP UP and GUT INSTINCT. Compound this with the sonic territories explored by New York bands such as CROWN OF THORNS and BREAKDOWN, and the intent of the outfit becomes obvious - total aural brutality. Following their inception in 2007, a 5-song demo, which was also released as an EP on Flatspot Records, was quick to follow. Hearing the demo songs, the crew at Reaper Records approached the band with a deal to release what would become known as the "Stay cold" EP. The EP contains 6 tracks of unrelenting hardcore reality. With this mission accomplished, the plot to bring it to the people was hatched. The CD also contains the "Demo 07" EP, 9 bonustracks all in all. (2008/REAPER)
