ADVERTS - Crossing the red sea (Ultimate) DoLP 24.90 EUR

PUNK. Gatefold 140 gram 2LP with printed inner sleeves + free MP3 download! What you have here is not only a reissue of one of the greatest Punk debuts of all time, but everything the ADVERTS ever recorded before setting of to work on their second album. Along with all 13 tracks recorded for 1978's ''Crossing the Red Sea'' (including a version of "Gary Gilmore's Eyes" originally intended for their US release and "New Day Dawning", which was held back for a single), this deluxe double LP also includes the band's first three singles, along with 6 tracks taken from a never-before-heard recording of a gig the ADVERTS played at the Roundhouse in London in early 1978 (headlining over SHAM 69), with brand new drummer, John Towe (from GENERATION X). A tape of this recording was just recently discovered sitting in a box in John's house, so this is the first time it has ever been heard by the public! AMEBIX - Sonic mass LPcol 15.90 EUR

CRUST-METAL. Now available as colored vinyl LP in a gatefold jacket. AMEBIX formed in the late 70s and hailed as the godfathers of Crust Punk and extreme Metal. They created their own mystical sound that generations of Crust bands absorbed. But over 20 years ago Rob Miller turned his back on the world, settled in the remote location of the Isle of Skye, and against the rugged backdrop of the Cuillins, became a self-taught sword smith. History saw AMEBIX become a casualty of their cult success coupled with record company wrangling. Ricocheting from their Devon school, to a Dartmoor manor house to the squats of Bristol, the band became the first UK signing to Jello Biafra's label, Alternative Tentacles. AMEBIX delivered the album 'Arise' for the label in 1985, followed by 'Monolith' for Heavy Metal Records in 1987. Upon returning AMEBIX to active status, brothers Rob & Stig were delighted to find the bands influence had extended across the Atlantic to long-time fan, Roy Mayorga (Soulfly, Stone Sour), who jumped at the chance to become part of the band. These nine new songs represent the past, present, and future of the band, and will enthrall and inspire longtime fans and new converts alike. METAL. This is a a masterpiece of Norwegian Black Metal Art ! A true classic ! After a long break the older Norwegian viking Black Metal band KAMPFAR returned in 2006. They had updated their sound a bit, songs are on the darker, more melancholic side. They also started writing with a bit more repetition and a touch more the older black metal sound, but still with their traditional folk riffs that make up the main of the uniqueness of their sound. This might be their coldest release so far, it is overwhelmingly covered in a gloom. KAMPFAR have a distinct and very folk inspired sound. Many times they feel like listening to an ancient folk tradition simply hooked up to electric instruments. Perhaps out of all of the bands in this style they are the only ones who consistently and truly have that sort of sound almost all the time. KAMPFAR are without a doubt among the truly unique bands to come out of Norway and it was very good to hear something new from them that is still very good and know that some bands from Norway can evolve while still staying true to their roots and their basic sound. "Grim Reality" rips and shreds the surface of what MACABRE can concoct, "Gloom" massacres it with 21 more tracks that were carved into leathery flesh over the two years between bloodbaths. There are lyrics here that will spring the giggles on you. They may mesmerize with their unusual and unexpected musical adeptness. Their uncanny penchant for peppy, upbeat vibes behind images of families mowed down by gunfire in McDonalds is legendary in certain circles. They will probably never find themselves in the forefront of any genre, and thats just as it should be. Like a madmans temper, vocals swing from an inhuman screech to a throat-searing shriek and down into a pit of thrash bawl and about fourteen points in-between that cannot be dubbed sane. MACABRE are the Peek Freens of thrash/speed bands. They are never a danger to any of musics imagined crowns, nor will any of the three ever run for Congress. They are about as relaxed as a marked man hiding next door to the mobs clubhouse even though their sound can deflect most caliber bullets. PUNK. This new San Francisco band fronted by JENNY (THE ORPHANS), and backed by previous members of ROOFIE AND THE NIGHTSTALKER, CUTE LEPERS and many more. The NEIGHBORHOOD BRATS are here and are lighting the bay area scene on fire. Despite not yet being released, most of these 5 songs have found their way onto radio stations, podcasts and even an upcoming tv show. The 5 songs represent the bands entire debut recording session and are already blipping the radar for record of 2011. All songs are catchy, raw and blistering Punkrock bringing to mind early 80s LA Punk crossed with early SF female fronted bands. Think BLACK FLAG with AVENGERS/VKTMS vocals. NILE - Worship the animal LP 14.90 EUR

METAL. This was NILE's first release (1994 - the lost recordings) and the start of NILE's transcending musical career. Features the original NILE line-up that did "Among the Catacombs...". This album is quite different from the NILE we know today, but that does not make it any less amazing. The album only has 5 songs, but it is in fact longer than NILE's first actual CD. The songs are all lengthy, which gives the tracks an epic feel. Lyrically, the album is not as Egyptian themed as later NILE releases, but they still speak of ancient times, mythology, battles, etc. The speech of the lyrics is more modern sounding than those of the current lyrics. Not as many "thou arts" or "thy(s)", although there are a few. The sound quality of the album is very bass driven. There are also some tribal tom parts that heighten the epic feel of things. ROCKET FROM THE TOMBS - Barfly LP 18.50 EUR

PUNK. LP postponed again. The received wisdom (at least in America) goes that Punk Rock was invented in New York by the RAMONES, who reconfigured Midwestern hard Groove Rock and 60s Garage singles, into a formula that defined Punk: short, fast, catchy, and unstoppable. But in some weird parallel universe, Punk might have traced its roots to ROCKET FROM THE TOMBS, a Cleveland band that lasted less than eight months (1974-75), and never made a studio recording. In those eight months they wrote songs that would become Punk anthems, later performed by the DEAD BOYS: "Ain't It Fun," "Sonic Reducer," "Final Solution," "30 Seconds Over Tokyo," "Amphetamine." And they played them like there was no tomorrow. The band blew apart in July 1975. One faction went on to create the Avant-Garage Rock group PERE UBU, the other, Punk stalwarts The DEAD BOYS. Now, after 37 years they have finally recorded an a studio album with ''Barfly'', delivering a sound that's not dated, or restricted to any passing fad or marketing infatuation, these men are ugly, old, and have not mellowed in any conceivable way. GARAGE. It ain’t always clean. Not every time, man. Not this new 7'' by everybody's darling TY SEGALL. “Spiders” is more like downtown without the lights. The a-side creeps heavy and sounds like some Finnish funeral if it were a slow-jam on a dance or littered with off-handed mutterings of the word “gnarly” and everyone just a tad high but no one copping to it. Of course, that only adequately describes one of the A-side jams. Like a good friend, “Spiders” totally smacks both cheeks, what with being a double A-sided single and all. Per usual, the B-side is a through-the-ringer-cover (this time it’s the GROUNDHOGS) brought to new life through Ty-Fi Recording.
