PUNKROCK. After COBRA SKULLS kicked the door down with their debut LP they were picked by Alternative Press as a "Band to watch" and went on to tour with bands like AGAINST ME!, LOVED ONES, MAD CADDIES and more. With a growing buzz and hungry fans, the band knew they had to feed the snakes with something between albums, and here it is: 3 new songs of politically-charged punk rock belted out as though they've seen the future and are warning us about the end of the world. "Never be a machine" does a fine job of showing three different facets of the COBRA SKULLS sound, and for an uninitiated listener would serve as a nice introduction to the band's style of punk/folk/crust/rockabilly/whatever. CRYSTAL ANTLERS - EP MCD 7.90 EUR

POST-PUNK. The Long Beach based CRYSTAL ANTLERS are riding high off the growing success of their debut EP simply dubbed as “EP”. Rightfully so though, as EP absolutely smokes through 6 songs that somehow blend elements of blues, psych, post-punk, prog, and god only knows what else into this finely crafted 25 minute package. Typically I don’t get too into what comes off as strictly derivative psych, so it’s incredibly refreshing to hear a band like this take it to a completely different level to the point where I don’t even really know what I am listening to at times. CRYSTAL ANTLERS seem like a band that could go anywhere with their sound, and I think that’s what ultimately makes them the exciting listen that they are. Who knows what their next record could sound like; it’s pretty much a wild card after listening to EP. (2008/TOUCH & GO)

DEADLY SINS - Selling our weaknesses LPcol 10.90 EUR

PUNKROCK. DEADLY SINS emerge as a fresh voice in the long-standing Boston punk rock scene. Stephanie Dougherty and Billy Brown formed the band in 2006. Stephanie is best known for lending her vocals to the DROPKICK MURPHYS on the song "The dirty glass" and Billy singing and playing guitar in CRASH AND BURN. Soon after, the lineup was complete with the addition of Brendan Maguire (REACH THE SKY), Nathan Bice (EVEN IN BLACKOUTS) and Joe Packard. This is their debut-album with 12 tracks that showcase a unique sound, which is a combination of the different musical experiences of each member. Expect tons of melodies, sinalongs and some serious kickass streetpunk on one hand, but also some smoother tunes on the other, as well. Raleigh, NC's DEVOUR were born from the ashes of CROSS LAWS, but rather than simply picking up where that band left off, the remaining members expanded to a 5-piece and followed the long Southern tradition of adding traces of metal into their hardcore. SKA. The band was founded in Bergamo at the beginning of 1997. It’s composed of nine members: five brass instruments, piano, guitar, contrabass and drums, and often a singer. The sound is that of Jamaican orchestras of the sixties (Ska). Their formula is to cover movie themes but also pieces from different traditions arranged in a Jamaican style. Claimed by specialised audience as the second best Ska band in Italy, they have grown up in few years.
