ACEPHALIX - Same 7'' 4.20 EUR
HARDCORE. A brutal combination of low end metallic distortion, pummeling riffs and gnarled vocals, San Francisco's ACEPHALIX's debut 4-song 7" takes influence from all over the map of extreme music - from CELTIC FROST to CRO-MAGS and INTEGRITY, from WOLFPACK and later ANTI-CIMEX to SACRILEDGE and AXEGRINDER, but has hammered out and forged its own sound by relentless gigs around the SF Bay Area over the past year. Featuring current and former members of THE RIFFS, DEPRESSOR, POISON IDEA, DEFIANCE, DEATHCHARGE and BLOWN TO BITS, this is the heaviest thing Prank has released in almost fifty releases, a modern attack; yet reminiscent of early classic Prank releases by DAMAD, ELDOPA 1332 and the bleak punk metal fusions of the late '90s and early '00s. (2009/PRANK)
-----------------------------------------------------------
AN ALBATROSS - The An Albatross family album LP 11.90 EUR
SCREAMO-HARDCORE. The third release from former Ace Fu and GSL Recording artist AN ALBATROSS. Previous tours with such artists as DAUGHTERS, UNICORNS, DON CABALLERO, LIGHTNING BOLT, THE APES, MELT BANANA, DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, BLUE CHEER and DMBQ. For fans of DAUGHTERS and THE LOCUST. (2009/EYEBALL)
-----------------------------------------------------------
AUSSITOT MORT - Montuenga LP 13.90 EUR
SCREAMO-HARDCORE. With two guys in the rhythm section also doing time in AMANDA WOODWARD, it seems natural they would share a similar sound and vibration as their countrymen. This is powerful, driving French Hardcore similar to current bands like DAITRO and AMANDA WOODWARD. (2009/LEVEL PLANE)
-----------------------------------------------------------
BATTLETORN - Reflect the filth LP 11.50 EUR
HARDCORE. "Reflect the filth" will be the band's final full-length offering, and compiles 8 studio tracks recorded at The Thousand Caves with Behold... The Arctopus' Colin Marston at the knobs on the A-side. Side B has a complete live set (clocking in at 15 minutes, it's the band's longest) recorded in Tokyo on the last night of their Japanese tour. In continuing the tradition of their over-before-you-know-it aesthetic, the 12" will be limited to 500 copies which promise to be gone rather quickly. (2009/MAD AT THE WORLD)
-----------------------------------------------------------
BLACKRIVER BOYS - Steeped in tradition CD 9.50 EUR
PUNK. The BLACKRIVER BOYS is the project of the century comprised of ex-Vietnom DMS members Aaron and AK-Ray, also live guitarist for SKARHEAD and DANNY DIABLO, Adam G, Dru "The unknown soldier" and a studio collaboration with Dusty, former drummer of GOOD CHARLOTTE. This is a band of brothers putting true feeling behind powerful harmonies and giving the passerby a face-full of brutal reality. The sound of the BLACKRIVER BOYS is an ever evolving mix of life experiences, influences and truths somewhere between H2O, US BOMBS and RANCID. (2009/FILLED WITH HATE)
-----------------------------------------------------------
BLANK DOGS - Under and under DoLP/CD 16.50/12.50 EUR
POP-PUNK/NEW WAVE. For the past several years, a slew of 12-inches, 7-inches, and cassettes have been released by the mysterious Brooklyn artist known as BLANK DOGS. BLANK DOGS is actually singular - it's the insanely prolific one-man band of Mr. BLANK DOGS. Not too much is known about the guy behind the bedroom New Wave / Pop / Punk act and he's usually covering his face with masks or bedspreads, but that's fine. The sound is JOY DIVISION vocal lines with The CURE's synth and guitar melodies filtered through ancient, submerged keyboards and eroded recording equipment. "Under and under" is BLANK DOGS' latest and most massive release to date - a double-album housing 20 brand new songs (15 on the CD) that show off his pop chops to a greater extent than any of his previous releases. Also, for the first time, BLANK DOGS has incorporated the assistance of outside musicians to lend a hand. Various artists from the Brooklyn music scene - members of the CHRYSTAL STILTS and VIVIAN GIRLS, among others - contribute this time around, though the sound remains as dusted and strange as anything BLANK DOGS has done before. (2009/IN THE RED)
-----------------------------------------------------------
BLANK DOGS - Waiting 7'' 4.90 EUR
POP-PUNK/NEW WAVE. To coincide with the release of BLANK DOGS' "Under and under" double-LP, In The Red has issued this companion single featuring two exclusive tracks. "Waiting" finds the band drifting ever closer to C-86 Brit-pop terrain and incorporates more guitar than synth. Stereogum says, "It's like JOY DIVISION vocal lines with THE CURE's synth and guitar melodies filtered through ancient submerged keyboards and eroded recording equipment''. (2009/IN THE RED)
-----------------------------------------------------------
BOMBER - Mourning 7'' 4.50 EUR
PUNK. Brand new and debut EP from VA Beach/Charlottesville VA's own BOMBER. Very rowdy, trashy and still catchy Punk from Virginia. Songs dealing with the topics of bad things going to happen, the dread to wake up to go to work and being taken advantage of these are def more down to earth topics from a Punk band. Musially it's def PUNK hearing elements of the GERMS, KBD style punk and even early GG ALLIN (only musically) and its definitely got the Southern feel to it too, giving it that extra punch. Just solid Punkrock, can't ask for anything more! A very SMALL pressing. (2009/COWABUNGA)
-----------------------------------------------------------
CHEAP TIME - Woodland drive 7'' 4.90 EUR
GARAGE-PUNK. Two brand new studio tracks from Nashville, TN's favorite Pop-Punk-Glam-Bubblegum band. Snotty, catchy ditties influenced by SPARKS, The QUICK, MILK 'n' COOKIES, and early KINKS that'll tide you over until this band unleashes their next full-length. The single comes in a handsome, Fontana-esque picture sleeve. (2009/IN THE RED)
-----------------------------------------------------------
CHIMAIRA - The infection DoLP 19.50 EUR
METALCORE. CHIMAIRA didn't hold back anything for the making of "The infection" and it's obvious they sure as hell aren't going to phone it in onstage. With a decade of service to the Metal masses behind them, CHIMAIRA are embracing their future with an unwavering enthusiasm. Introducing "The infection": Ten doses of intensity and integrity to cleanse you of all the festering mediocrity happening in music today. (2009/BLACK SLEEVES)
-----------------------------------------------------------
CROW - Flock of beast 7'' 3.70 EUR
HARDCORE-PUNK. Tokyo legends CROW return with 2 new blasting tracks of doomy metallic Punk mayhem – “Flock of beast” and “Flock of beast 2”. Thundering deeper into epic, mid-tempo metallic territory on the A-side with CROW’s trademark gravel-drawn vocals over searing riffs, this EP echoes their recent “The beating of the wings of destruction” 12” by exploding on the B-side into ferocious, fast-paced Hardcore. CROW origins date back to the early Japanese Punk scene of the 1980’s, but they have attacked in the last decade with a renewed intensity, culminating this decade in tours and a second album “Bloody tear” which was released in the U.S. by Prank in 2007. This most recent recording testifies they have no intention of letting up that ferocious intensity! (2009/PRANK)
-----------------------------------------------------------
DARK AGES - Vicious lie 7'' 4.50 EUR
HARDCORE-PUNK. The debut 7" EP from Kansas City's DARK AGES! Continuing off from where their killer 4 song demo (which also saw a pressing on vinyl) left off, this picks up where they left off and yet cover new ground at the same time. Its progressive but not to the point where that's a dirty word to punks. Like its more refined and the band knows which direction to take this musically. Lyrically it tackles similar topics as the demo did-religion, environmental issues and also a song about trying to not think of everything in a negative way, to be positive for a change. It kind of sounds like stuff you've heard before but all that matters is its just DARK AGES and this is far from retread HC/Punk, have nice color covers. (2009/COWABUNGA)
-----------------------------------------------------------
DARKEST HOUR - The eternal return CD 11.90 EUR
METALCORE. DARKEST HOUR, the Washington D.C. powerhouse Metal quintet, will proudly release their fifth full-length record, "The eternal return", on Victory Records. The band tapped producer Brian McTernan (Senses Fail, Thrice, From Autumn to Ashes) and recorded at his Baltimore, MD-based Salad Days Studio. Guitarist Mike Schleibaum comments, “To put it simply, this is a Metal record made by dudes who have dedicated half of their lives to aggressive, unrelenting music.” (2009/VICTORY)
-----------------------------------------------------------
DESKONOCIDOS - Problemas 7'' 4.20 EUR
PUNK. Four track 7" of raging and raw Punkrock. Members of BASTARDS SONS OF APOCALYPSE deliver a more rootsy Punk release sung in Spanish and reminiscent of early bands from Spain with a dark edge. Infectious tunes that'll make you play it over and over again. 500 pressed. (2009/LENGUA ARMADA)
-----------------------------------------------------------
GHOSTLIMB / FISCHER - Split 10''col 11.50 EUR
HARDCORE/INDIE-ROCK. GHOSTLIMB, who feature the main man from GRAF ORLOCK, bring a sound that crosses the melody of PROPAGANDHI with the all out intensity of CATHARSIS and HIS HERO IS GONE. FISCHER play upbeat Indierock in the same vein as bands like BRAID and CHALLENGER. (2009/VITRIOL)
-----------------------------------------------------------
GRACE WILL FALL - Second album LP/CD 11.50/13.90 EUR
HARDCORE. GRACE WILL FALL are a Swedish Hardcore five- piece with a strong Punk attitude, who don't consider trends. They formed in Jönköping, Sweden in 2002 with the basic, simple idea to create wild Hardcore-Punk and have a blast doing it, taking a wide rang of influences through TRAGEDY, GIVE UP THE GHOST, RAISED FIST, CONVERGE, JR EWING and NORMA JEAN. GRACE WILL FALL quickly achieved national airplay and was invited onto various compilations. In 2004 they then released a split 7" with sludge doom legends COUNTERBLAST and another in 2006 with Punk/Hardcore act M:40. (2009/SHARK MEN/MIDSUMMER)
-----------------------------------------------------------
GREEN DAY - 39/Smooth LP+7" 21.50 EUR
PUNK. GREEN DAY's first album "39/Smooth" is back. Originally released in 1990, this album was the world's first glimpse of GREEN DAY's unique blend of Punkrock energy, melodic riffs and self-deprecating charm. It includes not one, but two 7" singles. (2009/REPRISE)
-----------------------------------------------------------
GREEN DAY - Dookie LP 21.50 EUR
PUNK. "Dookie" is the album that thrust Punkrock into the mainstream in 1994, exposing millions of kids worldwide to the underbelly of American music. Many of these songs received plenty of radio airplay, including "Basket case," "Longview," "When i come around," "She" and more. Now available again on 180-gram vinyl. (2009/WARNER)
-----------------------------------------------------------
GREEN DAY - Insomniac LP 19.90 EUR
PUNK. GREEN DAY's second major label album full-length, released in 1994 is a bit of a departure from their poppy Punk back catalog; it showcases the band trading in their sugary sweet hooks for a heavier approach, while still retaining their patented sound. Artwork by Winston Smith (Dead Kennedys). Now available again on vinyl. (2009/WARNER)
-----------------------------------------------------------
GREEN DAY - Kerplunk LP+7" 19.90 EUR
PUNK. Green Day's second album, "Kerplunk", now available again on vinyl after being out of print for more than a decade. Includes the original recorded version of "Welcome to paradise." This reissue also comes with a bonus 7" of their first EP, "Sweet children." (2009/REPRISE)

-----------------------------------------------------------
I HATE THIS - Trimming the fat 7'' 3.90 EUR
HARDCORE. I HATE THIS are back with more raw and punk styled Thrash/Hardcore from the forests of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Female fronted raw and short blasts of furious and pissed off Hardcore, blaze through, the best tracks of their earlier releases. (2009/GIVE PRAISE)
-----------------------------------------------------------
JOAN OF ARC - Flowers LP/CD 13.50/13.50 EUR
INDIE-ROCK. Despite being written over the course of a year in four different sessions with four different lineups (but always with frontman Tim Kinsella at the helm), the first listen reveals the songs on "Flowers" as a more cohesive unit than those on its predecessor: last year’s "Boo human". This experience encapsulates the spirit of JOAN OF ARC - a mentality that embraces contradictions and tears apart common musical structures, only to rebuild them without a blueprint. JOAN OF ARC continues to succeed in doing what many strive for with a new album: creating an obscure combination of familiar, obvious ideas while sticking with the notion that “if it feels good, do it.” (2009/POLYVINYL)
-----------------------------------------------------------
JUDGEMENT - Just be 7'' 5.50 EUR
HARDCORE. JUDGEMENT "Just be" was originally released as a CD- Only EP by Tokyo's HG FACT label in 2001. This was the debut release of the Tokyo bands final line up Comprised of Japanese legends Guitarist Zigyaku (GUDON, HALF YEARS, BASTARD), Drummer Mukai ( CHICKEN BOWELS, DEATHSIDE) and then-new members singer Jha Jha (LIPCREAM) and bassist Sakura. Combining the best elements of the band's previous works with an upbeat spirit, high energy drumming and incredible guitar riffs, "Just be..." is another landmark in the band's impressive catalog of now classic 7" EP's dating back to the band's origins in the mid 1990's. This is the first time these 4 tracks appear on vinyl. (2009/PRANK)
-----------------------------------------------------------
KARATE HIGH SCHOOL - Invaders CD 10.90 EUR
PUNK. San Francisco, CA based KARATE HIGH SCHOOL formed in 2004, just as the pop-punk music scene officially exploded. After two self-released records, KARATE HIGH SCHOOL unapologetically polarizes scenesters everywhere with their debut commercial release "Invaders." Without batting an eyelash, KHS effortlessly melds hooky guitar riffs with electronic accents forming an album of true Punkrock. (2009/EYEBALL)
-----------------------------------------------------------
KURSK / DAMAGE DIGITAL - Split 7'' 4.50 EUR
HARDCORE/GRINDCORE. KURSK (Canada) - organic grinding Hardcore with elaborate arrangements. a warm and melodic, yet amazingly heavy and piercing tone that brings to mind the GORGUTS guitar work comparison, complemented by the established skills of the ex-HEAD HITS CONCRETE skinsman. KURSK walk the road of genre- bending bands such as VOIVOD and DAMAD, pushing the envelope of extreme Hardcore. DAMAGE DIGITAL (Japan) - premium thrashy Grindcore. Very raw and energetic, following the tradition of their countrymen 324 and DISCORDANCE AXIS in making catchy yet extreme Grind. With this record DAMAGE DIGITAL mark their 13th anniversary of representing the finest in the underground Grindcore scene. (2009/LEVEL PLANE)
-----------------------------------------------------------
LAST RESORT - You'll never take us CD 12.90 EUR
PUNK. The LAST RESORT are synonymous with the Oi! movement. Their reputation has far outweighed their recorded output and has resulted in the band's legendary status, despite only being together originally between 1980 and 1982. Over the last year, they've written and recorded a long overdue album featuring 14 new Oi! anthems. (2009/I SCREAM)
-----------------------------------------------------------
MATES OF STATE - All day MLP/MCD 10.90/9.50 EUR
EMO/INDIE. "All day" contains 4 songs of reinvention tinged with underlying familiarity. Combining segues of instrumentation and melody that crescendo into beautiful harmony, the opening track is an instant classic and sets an apt tone for "All day". Track 2 leans heavily on vocal harmonies, track 3 takes a minimalist approach as a bare piano track. The most widely talked about song, however, is the last one, a startling cover of DAVID BOWIE's "Starman". 180gr thick vinyl version includes coupon for free mp3 of the entire album. (2009/POLYVINYL)
-----------------------------------------------------------
MIKE HALE - Lives like mine LPcol/CD 14.90/11.50 EUR
SINGER/SONGWRITER. Days after IN THE RED (Mike Hale's Rock band) finished recording "Volume 2," he was already recording his second solo album, "Lives like mine". "Lives like mine" follows up where "Broken with no hope" leaves off, taking the listener through a very personal, albeit heart-wrenching, journey. Mike's musical journey originally found him in the No Idea band GUNMOLL, and splitting a 7" solo-style with HWM's Chris Wollard. Vinyl version includes a free digital download coupon for your listening pleasure. (2009/SUBURBAN HOME)
-----------------------------------------------------------

Blending Deathmetal, Thrash and melodic Hardcore, MMI stands above the crowd of copy cat bands. You may ask what separates them from the rest of the pack? It’s simple, amazing musicianship, great song writing, amazing CD production and a killer live show. (2009/RISE)
-----------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------
NASTY - Graves CD 9.50 EUR
HARDCORE. With a penchant for mischief and a bad attitude, New Hampshire's The NASTY break out 12 tracks of fast, incredibly angry Hardcore-Punk with the occasional mosh break, very reminiscent of XFilesX, but also similar to BONES BRIGADE, DRI and INTERNAL AFFAIRS. (2009/ARREST)
-----------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------
NUMBER TWELVE LOOKS LIKE YOU, THE - Worse than alone LP 11.90 EUR
CHAOSCORE. With the buzz surrounding TNTLLY at an all-time high, the group went all-or-nothing for their latest release. Bearing down in Backroom Studios in Rockaway, NJ, "Worse than alone" was self-produced by the band and mixed by Steve Evetts (EVERY TIME I DIE, DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN) and represents the next stage in the band’s evolution. "Worse than alone" miraculously fuses literally every style of music the band is influenced by, from classical and Jazz to Screamo, Grindcore and Death Metal into one molten morass of auditory carnage. (2009/EYEBALL)
-----------------------------------------------------------
PAINT IT BLACK - Amnesia 7''col 4.50 EUR
HARDCORE-PUNK. PAINT IT BLACK is excited to announce the title and showcase the artwork for their upcoming Bridge Nine release. This 7” EP, titled "Amnesia", and was recorded by Kurt Ballou of God City studios. If there's one thing about PAINT IT BLACK, it's that they're not only consistent but they keep finding ways to reinvent themselves in the framework of "Hardcore"-and "Amnesia" is no different. At one moment, uncomfortable and angry, the next minute cathartic and energetic, and closing with "Bliss"-the song described by frontman Dan Yemin as "sounding like FUGAZI having a three-way with JAWBREAKER and NIRVANA." We couldn't agree more-except we'd like to add that the PIXIES were probably photographing the three way (you'll know when you hear it). (2009/BRIDGE NINE)
-----------------------------------------------------------
STUPIDS, THE - The kids don't like it LP/CD 13.90/13.50 EUR
HARDCORE-PUNK. The STUPIDS are back! The band that were the pioneers for a whole UK scene have reformed, and produced not only their first new album in 21 years, but arguably their most complete album ever. "The kids don't like it" has taken almost a year to make, and features 16 new tracks that stand proud alongside their illustrious back catalogue. It’s like the last two decades never happened. (2009/BOSS TUNEAGE)
-----------------------------------------------------------
SWORN ENEMY - Total world domination CD 12.90 EUR
METALCORE. SWORN ENEMY have returned with a scathing new assault, "Total world domination", that is unquestionably their most impressive and destructive release yet. Featuring a newly reinvigorated lineup, this 10-track offering takes the group’s sound to new heights, which sees them embracing a thrashier edge and pummeling the listener with unbridled aggression. (2009/CENTURY MEDIA)
-----------------------------------------------------------
THIS IS A STANDOFF - Be disappointed LPcol 12.50 EUR
PUNK. Canadian Punk heroes THIS IS A STANDOFF formed from the ashes of BELVEDERE and continue to bring blazing fast, melodic Punkrock with superior musicianship and a technical edge, reminiscent of bands like STRUNG OUT, MILLENCOLIN, A WILHELM SCREAM and BIGWIG. (2009/ANIMAL STYLE)
-----------------------------------------------------------
TIMEBOMBS, THE - I belong in hell LP 11.90 EUR
HARDCORE-PUNK. Brand new release from SoCal's TIMEBOMBS and their first full-length. A bit different from the material people more remember them for on past releases but still having that 'Timebombs' sound, they are more focused yet a little noisy and definitely loud 'in the red' on this record. Lyrically its more desperate, paranoid and angry than their other songs and its still retaining the slight melody they always have and its still hardcore punk but one cannot pigeon hole this record, its a solid release that stands out in underground HC and a great LP. Small press and covers have dual sided print but not reversible or a fold over as they are glued. (2009/COWABUNGA)
-----------------------------------------------------------
TORNAVALANCHE - Get rich or cry trying LP 16.90 EUR
POST-HARDCORE. TORNAVALANCHE, who boast members of TEN GRAND and FORSTELLA FORD, like to party. Much like the sweeping force of nature from which they derived their name, the Chicago, IL/Milwaukee, WI rockers roar onto the scene with the single-minded drive to tear shit up. TORNAVALANCHE's stripped-down, raw power approach to Rock 'n' Roll has been making ripples across the Midwest, and the band has shared the stage with the likes of MURDER BY DEATH and MODERN RADIO. If Iggy Pop had a yearly backyard BBQ, this is the band he would want playing it. LP includes a coupon that can be used for a limited time to download MP3 audio files of the recordings. (2009/EXOTIC FEVER)
-----------------------------------------------------------
URBAN BLIGHT - More reality LP 11.90 EUR
HARDCORE. Channelling early '80s Boston and New York Hardcore, Toronto, Canada's URBAN BLIGHT tear through 10 tracks of fast, pissed-off Hardcore with an authentic sounding recording and blown out vocals on music that's comparable to The ABUSED, STRAIGHT AHEAD, SSD and NEGATIVE FX. (2009/SLASHER)
-----------------------------------------------------------
V/A FUCK TORONTO - Tribute to YES LP 11.90 EUR
HARDCORE/PUNK. LA compilation with CAREER SUICIDE, DANGERLOVES, LEGION 666, STEF AND THE STUDS and BROWN KNUCLER each doing a coverversion by YES. (2009/SCHIZOPHRENIC)
-----------------------------------------------------------
VIDEO DISEASE - Make me pure 7'' 4.50 EUR
PUNK. On their follow up to the Square Wave Records debut, Orange County, CA Hardcore ragers VIDEO DISEASE play 4 tracks of fast and hectic Punkrock that could have been found on early Slap-A-Ham releases, sounding like The REPOS with the vocals of STIKKY. (2009/COWABUNGA)
-----------------------------------------------------------
WEEDEATER - God luck and good speed LP 16.90 EUR
DOOM. This is WEEDEATER’s masterpiece of whiskey and weed-soaked doom. After two critically acclaimed full-length releases "God luck and good speed" is WEEDEATER’s debut for Southern Lord. All but one of the songs on the album were recorded and produced by the legendary Steve Albini (Neurosis, High On Fire, Nirvana, etc.). The sound is gigantic and both the production and recording skillfully capture the intense experience of a WEEDEATER show while achieving tones that will swallow you whole. The vinyl is limited to 1500 copies and comes pressed on 180gr heavy vinyl, with deluxe gatefold packaging! (2009/SOUTHERN LORD)
-----------------------------------------------------------
WEEKEND NACHOS - Unforgivable LP 10.90 EUR
POWER-VIOLENCE HARDCORE. The second full-length from WEEKEND NACHOS. Twelve tracks of fucking fast, brutal, Powerviolence Hardcore. They take the raw thrash of bands like INFEST and LACK OF INTEREST and throw in the doom and sludge of EYEHATEGOD to create an ugly mix of Hardcore and Metal. (2009/DEEP SIX)
-----------------------------------------------------------
YOUNG WIDOWS / PELICAN - Split 7'' 5.90 EUR
POST-HARDCORE. YOUNG WIDOWS have assembled an all-killer-no-filler split single series, featuring new, unreleased YOUNG WIDOWS jams, split up over four separate 7-inch singles, accompanied by a handful of their favorite friends and artists on the flip side. All songs by all artists are new and exclusive to this series and are limited to a one-time pressing of 2,000 copies. The artwork of the four releases fits together to form one large, beautiful puzzled image. (2009/TEMPORARY RESIDENCE)
