LOMA PRIETA (USA/DEATHWISH)

Formed in 2005, Loma Prieta have been a mainstay of the Bay Area hardcore community for more than half a decade. In that time they have released four 12 inch records and two 7 inch records mostly on their own label, Discos Huelga. They have also toured the U.S., Japan, Canada, Australie, Europe and Mexico numerous times, all while members play in several other hardcore bands (Punch, Beau Navire, Us Haunted Bodies).

While Loma Prieta's sound is difficult to describe, it is clear that they come from the rich tradition of creative Bay Area hardcore bands such as Mohinder, Funeral Diner, Bread and Circuits, Yaphet Kotto, and Indian Summer. Eschewing sub-genres in favor of organically writing songs that are personally fulfilling, each Loma Prieta record is substantially different from the last. Nonetheless, Loma Prieta have managed to forge a distinctive form of expression that is entirely their own.

FUCK, WOLVES! (all over DE/MOMENT OF COLLAPSE)

Das Loocked Groove-Zine über die aktuelle Scheibe: Fuck,Wolves! haben nach "Es ist alles in OrdnungÂ….nur in einer anderen" ihre zweite Ep rausgebracht. Beim ersten hinhören klassischer DIY Screamo/Hardcore Kram der zwischen all den Neuerscheinungen garnicht besonders hervorsticht. Aber wenn man sich intensiver mit den Jungs aus Berlin, Kaiserslautern, Saarbrücken & co. beschäftigt, merkt man das da mehr ist als bloße Lust am Punk/Hardcore. Musik für die Nacht bei -3 Grad im Wald, wo einen niemand hört und man seine ganze Wut und Enttäuschung herausschreien kann. "losing ground, coming back on the ground, booze, life how it is, stories, hard nights in cold streetsÂ…" bennen sie ihre Einflüsse und das hört man in jeder Sekunde. Ein wunderbares Fargo Cover "Leben macht hungrig" rundet die Ep sehr schön ab und danach folgt einer der schönsten Songtitel aller Zeiten in meinen Augen. "Heute ist auch nur Gestern 2.0″. Zack genau ins Herz und in die Fresse. Bitte kaufen und weiterempfehlen und live auch bewundern bitte.
