CKY - neu bei Roadrunner Records
... so der schlichte Bandname des neusten Roadrunner Records Signings.
1998 von Deron Miller (Gesang/Gitarre), Chad I Ginsburg (Gitarre/Gesang) und Jess Margera (Schlagzeug), erschien 1999 das Debütalbum von CKY "Vol. 1" auf dem Indie Label Volcom und wurde schließlich von Island Def Jam gesignt, wo 2001 dann "Infiltrate-Destroy-Rebuild" erschienen ist. Drei Jahre später gefolgt von "An Answer Can Be Found".
"CKY is a massively underrated band," so Roadrunner Senior VP A&R Monte Conner. "Everything about them screams unique, from Deron Miller´s dark, melodic vocals and iconoclastic songwriting, to Chad I Ginsburg´s cutting-edge production and mix techniques, to their one-of-a-kind guitar sound and rampant use of the Moog synthesizer. They simply sound like no other band I have ever heard. I´ve known Deron since he was a teenager and have been dying to work with CKY ever since I heard the stunning Infiltrate-Destroy-Rebuild album. I am honored to finally have the opportunity to do so, with such a forward-thinking band."
