I write to you from my couch, watching season 2 of Lost, one of my new favorite shows (that and Heroes...), to which I am currently very, very, VERY addicted. We've been enjoying an awesome and much needed break from the road, but as much as I love being home, I'm itching to hit the road and see you guys again! We hadn't had a break longer than a week since January when we left for Mexico, and since then we've traveled across Canada and the US with our buddies Silverstein and ADTR, again across the states with the Maylene boys and White Chapel, a couple weeks in Australia and England, and ventured to almost every major city on the Vans Warped Tour. That's a lot to swallow without some time off!!
Today, however, was amazing.. We had practice and started working on one of the new songs for the record, and from the short little bit we have so far, I think you guys are going to love it. We're completely different people and much more mature musicians than the last time we wrote a record (Plagues, which is being rereleased SOON with a super-long DVD that we filmed on our last few tours, go preorder it! ;)) and so far, I think it shows. We're definitely approaching this record with a lot more maturity, but also a lot more pressure. I'm confident that you guys will love it though!
Sorry it's been so long since we last hit you guys up, but this summer was an amazing journey for us as a band. We met so many great people, and had some of the best times of our lives. And in just a few short weeks we hit the road with the amazing guys in Underoath and Saosin! That will definitely be a treat for anyone that can make it, and I'm begging you guys to come out. We love you, we miss you, we've got the itch to play!
I'm going to try and keep some video logs of how things are going with the new record and with us in general so you guys don't get too bored, but we're very stoked to write this new record and to get back out on the road with you guys. There are definitely some VERY exciting things in the works right now, so keep your eyes and ears peeled...
Much love guys, we appreciate the support, and the comments, and the emails, and the love that you guys give us more than you could ever know. It's probably one of the most cliche thing to say that we have the best fans in the world, but I honestly feel this way. You guys are so, so passionate online, at shows, and in your every day lives about this silly little band, and it makes it all worthwhile!
